Could we be looking at the tragic remains of a Ricoh Pin disaster?

Just needs batteries and it's good to go. And a service. And some repairs. Yours for ~USD150.

35mm SLR - ASAHI PENTAX MX 35mm SLR Film Camera with SMC PENTAX-M 1:1.7 / 50mm lens + extras for sale in Venterstad (ID:480708526)

---------- Post added 2020-08-18 at 16:02 ----------

One of these turned up in the classifieds. I saw the ad a couple of hours after it was published and reached out to the seller. After a long delay he replied that it had been sold. A few days later the same lens turns up again. At exactly four and a half times the original price. Coincidence? I don't think so - the local market is tiny.

Not so much a de-glassed teleconverter, as a re-glassed set of extension tubes - I think.

How about a two year old Canon EOS500D?

[Sale] - Canon Eos 500D Complete Kit (with lenses) | Photo, Video & Security | Carbonite

According to Wikipedia it was released in 2009.

Canon EOS 500D - Wikipedia

He even includes this link in the ad, dated 2010.

Canon EOS 500D review: Canon EOS 500D - CNET

I wonder where he gets the plutonium for doing time traveling in his De Lorean.

Then again, the camera was only used on holidays. Perhaps the time it sat in the cupboard does not count. Sigh...

No not at all.

You are conflating Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace Ada Lovelace - Wikipedia and Linda Lovelace the porn star.

Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace was the only "legitimate" child of Lord Byron. She was a skilled mathematician and corresponded with Babbage over many years. She understood the concept behind Babbage's Analytical Engine, which if it had been made, would have been mechanical programmable computer in the modern sense of the word. In a letter to Babbage she described how to set up the Analytical Engine to calculate Bernoulli numbers. This description, from a book she translated from Italian, is considered by most computer geeks to be the first written "program". Several engineering colleges have produced virtual Babbage "engines" and they have demonstrated that Ada's "program" would have worked.

In 1983 the DoD (US Department of Defense) created a computer language known as Ada. (ANSI/MIL-STD-1815A-1983) The 1815A references Ada's year of birth. When I was in college, we used Ada as the language of choice for our upper level programming courses. When I worked at the Lazy B (airplanes, WA state - look it up) the flight deck instrumentation and flight controls on the 777 were written in Ada. (Please note that the word Ada is not capitalized as it is a name - ADA => American Dental Association and a few other things).

Now I understand that you were trying to be a bit light hearted in your comment. However, since I graduated from a college that was basically a Catholic Girl's Institution, I do get just a little "bent" when Ada is slighted by association with pornography.

Curiosity Stream has a very good documentary on the life and times of Lady Ada Lovelace.

Incidentally, the computer programming language Ada was named in her honor. It was admired for its elegance by those in the know, but never found much favor in the real world.
