I know nothing about Practikas other than that I was advised against them when was buying my first SLR. That one looks like it has a single manual speed (working without a battery?), Bulb, and is otherwise Auto only, but at least it has exposure compensation and a Judas window for the aperture, which is more than the Pentax MV had (the lowest of the Pentax SLRs at the time). Does it have other disadvantages? Interestingly it seems to have the same hot-shoe contact layout as some of the Olympus SLRs of that time, with the ready contact ahead and to the right of the central trigger contact.
Having owned most of the Practika bayonet (and quite a few of the M42 mount) range over many years, I'd love to know why you were advised not buy one!
In all those (probably nearly 30) years, and having put a LOT of film through them, I never had to spend a lot of money on buying one nor did I ever have a mechanical or electronics failure - the only "complaints" I could ever consider making was that they all had very noisy shutters, and that there was a limited range of lenses available for the bayonet bodies!
PS: I did own a s/h BCA for a short time but soon traded it as it was so "limiting" by comparison with the other bayonet body that I already had.
PPS: Anyone wanting a decent bayonet body or lenses should PM me ASAP as I may have to junk them soon!
