Actually, that should have been "irritology" -- the study of irritating people with crazy for-sale listings, blurry product photos, unreasonable asking prices, and rambling, incoherent life-story justifications for said unreasonable prices.

By this definition, used camera and lenses for irritology are not "RARE!" although this listing was a "MINT" example of irritology.

That must be a world record for the biggest stack of lens/converters/adaptors. Was that how his mother used it? Is that workable?
I would imagine that, for illumination, a light was shone down the ear of the subject, as there was nothing inside to obstruct it.

Your quite wrong their filmfan, you should understand that irridology is not at all quack science. By taking photographs of the clients of this techniques eyeballs on 35mm slide film usually reveals that the clients lights are on but definitely no one is at home. It’s a powerful technique for seperating idiots from their wallets and has a kind of science to it. Its definitely a finely honed technique to cream cash.

If his mother really did pay ‘thousands’ for this you can only hope they ran into a quack camera sales person who returned the favour. I can picture it now ‘hmmmm yes Madam this stepdown ring is actually made from pure unicorn and finely graved by magical elves and holds power over all the other step down rings.....thats why it costs thousands’

Oh, I see -

One Stepping Ring to rule them all,
One Stepping Ring to find them,
One Stepping Ring to bring them all,
And in the darkness bind them.

The 35mm Cortland CX-7 caught my eye as I'd never heard of them. I found this interesting read :- Cortland CX-7 35mm Camera · Lomography

I don't regret never having heard of them before. Seems they were made specifically to be given away as freebees, but that does not stop this guy Vintage Cortland CX-7 35mm Camera with Case and Instruction Manual | eBay wanting over $56 for one, including postage.

Sony Mavica - Wikipedia
The company I was working for around 2004 was still using a later Mavica that stored the files on a 3.5" floppy - I still have some shots I took with that, and they aren't very "pretty"

Too many ignorant lazy listers working for Goodwill. I notice there is a lot less up for bid now too. A search for Pentax only returns 2 pages of results. Nikon only 3. K1000s still going for way too much.

Somebody searched SX-70 on eBay...though that seems more like an Etsy price...

It's up

It's due to what going on right now, at least up until last months before stuff started getting worse there used to be at least 4 or more pages of "Pentax" stuff up on there, now only two.
