The very, very rare Pentax KR-5, complete with Riconar 1:2.2 55mm lens!

I can see how the confusion arises. Pentax is a Ricoh product these days...

Rarely do you find a lens as bad as the Riconar 55/2.2...

I paid a-bucket-full-of-money for this camera when I bought it new. Therefore I am now looking to get a significant portion of that back when I sell it to you. Do not lowball me, the price is firm. Yada, yada, yada....

How many times have I read that one?

I have been meaning to get one to see how bad it really is. It might even become a collector's classic...

He's selling the Super Tak 85/1.9 for $210...

Pentax spotmatic- tricked out - photo/video - by owner - electronics sale

By "tricked out" he means the meter doesn't work, so he glued a Minolta SR meter onto it...

For 32 bucks I'd buy that. 30-40 bucks seems to be the going price for Spotmatics with broken light meters on Ebay. It's a weird set up but if that tacked on light meter works, it's got a leg up on my Spotmatic.

I'm personally not surprised because the BIN price is £520 - meaning that the Reserve is probably around £300-400, and whilst there is a good selection of lenses, none of them seem to be "to die for" types (except, possibly, the 28-90??) and most of them are definitely in the "very average" class.
.
I think the seller would have better luck selling the items separately

Same here. Sometimes the advertiser goes as far as to write "worth more than xxx$"...

The funniest stuff I see, but also the most annoying, is when someone lists" Pentax camera with Tiffen 49mm lens and promaster 58mm lens" ...

Another recently listed "A Pentax camera with small zoom and big zoom". And no pictures.

Some advertisers even post pictures of the boxes, not the contents !

In God We Trust - all others pay cash :

SMC Pentax A f2.8 135mm lens. PK fit. No scammers, please! | eBay

The vendor appears to feel that any bidders are trying to rip him/her off. After querying twice what the nature of the 'Not Working' description is, I am neither better informed nor wiser. I too am wary of being ripped off.

Guy trying to sell a message register camera as an "Aeiral" camera...

I didn't know what a message register camera was either, but it only took a few seconds to Google it...

QuoteQuote:
A message register camera is a fixed-focus camera specifically designed to photograph the message registers of automatic telephone exchanges for billing purposes and to avoid transcription errors. In the beginning they were custom-designed cameras, such as the Factograph manufactured by Graflex which underwent development from the late-1920s until the 1950s (models T-5 and T-6).
$600? Maybe for a Graflex completist...

There were other Factograph cameras too. Like one to take photos of electric meters...

Sellers all over the world show an amazing lack of internet skills. Earlier this week I saw a Canon EOS 600D twin lens kit advertised for about the same money as the very latest Canon twin lens kit. A very brief web search reveals this.

A favorite bugbear of mine is the typical seller of Samsung NX gear. They are oblivious to the fact that Samsung hasn't sold them in years and no longer support them. In their world their precious NX1 body is still worth a lot of money. Grrrr...
