From the ad : "It has been recently examined by a staff member of a camera centre". But he does not say what they thought of it I'm guessing he wanted them to make him an offer for it, but what/if they offered was less than the £140 he seems to be expecting.
Seller : ‘do you have a lens cap for this lens ?’

Staff member at camera centre : ‘sounds like a fair swap’

Here is part of a Jessops (UK) price list, April 1985 (ignore the red dots). They were replacing the M series with the A series about that time, and an A series one was £64.50. I bought a used M series one around then too, mint for £30.

BTW, it's interesting that a 50mm A series f1.7 did not cost much more than an M series f2.0, despite the fact that you would expect to pay a bit of a premium for an A series at the time. This belies the sometimes much higher price they expect for a f1.7 on Ebay.

I think I bought mine in the duty free store in Schiphol airport on my way to Nigeria. So I am sure I paid even less than that.

Love the bad cell phone photos. Guy says "well over $1000 worth make offer" but can't be bothered to list the models.

I can make out a Nikon EM, Canon AE-1, some sort of Canon Rebel, a Minolta XG-1, Minolta X-700, an Olympus Infinity Stylus Zoom, and an Argus C3 Matchmatic that doesn't seem to have the meter or the flash. There is a photo of a Canon Rebel T3 box...what does a used low end Rebel go for? $200?

I sold something on Ebay saying it was rubbish - a Ryobi garden appliance. Surprisingly, it sold.

Put the words junk or parts only with NIKON in the title and it will sell too.

And, apparently, a bonus DA 18-135!

But, alas, doesn't ship to Canada. Oh well, c'est la vie.

It's a shame to miss out on these features of the lens:

"Lens Specs:
  • Vari-Angle Prism Image Stabilization
  • Eco-Friendly Lead-Free Glass
  • Super Spectra Multicoated Optics
  • Doublet Field-Flattener Lenses"
It's odd that Ricoh/Pentax have never mentioned them. Then again, perhaps Ricoh is not interested in selling Canon binoculars.

Tied up in glass is the safest place that lead can possibly be. We should be pleased if our lenses contain some, as it keeps it out of the wild. Just don't eat the lens - even that would not draw the lead out but the glass might choke you..
