One of those ads - no details, description, useful pictures or price. But hey, it's a valuable antique. Focal length, aperture, meh - those are unimportant details as far as antiques go.

Out of interest, any idea of what focal length/aperture it might be, and a realistic sale value (I'm guessing 400mm/f6.3 preset, with 2 or 3 elements, & possibly with a T-mount, and worth maybe worth $60-70)?

The distance markings in the middle and on the zoom ring look awfully alike my Danubia 500/8, although the colours and m/ft are the other way around on mine, and the general shape is comparable, but not the same. I also can't make out the aperture ring. I got mine quite dusty inside for 16,50€ shipped I think. I'll still have to figure out how to get to all the elements from inside to give it a good cleaning.

The mystery lens does look like a Soligor 400mm f/6.3. Nothing that sets off any LBA/GAS symptoms on my side, then. I already have two 400mm lenses.

Tend to agree that it looks like a Soligor - more than a passing resemblence to this (smaller) 300mm in the 3rd party lens reviews section of the forum Soligor preset ("chrome ears") 300mm f5.5 Lens Reviews - Miscellaneous Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database

Take a look in the 3rd party lens reviews section because some of the reviews appear to give an idea on how to disassemble some of these old lenses.

Damn I didnt really read the decription just saw it as a Paragon lens. There must have been a whole raft of this spec lens turned out in the day by and for different manufacturers. I had one just like it that I paid about £30 for back in the mid 70s cant remember the branding on it. Might have been Helios....optically it was horrible.

It's not even a Cokin branded item. Somehow the seller missed this subtle clue!

He does have a matching ND16 filter for the same price.

I looked at his ad and noticed that some rotter (in the People also viewed banner) is undercutting his price, offering an identical one for only $6.62! In fact it is so identical that they are using the exact same set of pictures to illustrate their wares.

Another irony is the dearer seller's name : "Billcheapsale". An oddity is that the item location is Taiwan, but if you look at Billcheapsale's seller info it says he is in the USA.
