A leverectomy?
He "explains" all here :

The lens has had a leverectomy to make it compatible with all mounts, and will still work fine on K-mount as a stop-down lens.
I love the way the leverectomy is casually mentioned as a footnote, yet up front he claims it is "
as new". Then he wants $450 because they "
often sell for $700-850+".
What he fails to realise is that if you butcher anything, however much it "improves" it for your own special purposes, the value drops like a stone. It reduces it to the level of Ebay's "For Parts Only" category.
So what did he do with the bits he removed? Tossed them with the trash? Otherwise why not put them back or at least offer them to the buyer.
