Etsy is another one for delusional seller.........mostly selling tat to hipsters so I guess they maybe deserve it each other
I bought a car from FB marketplace at the beginning of my divorce proceedings. A rental was getting expensive and she had my car. She now has the FB marketplace car without paying a dimme, but I am happy to be rid of her, so a bargain twice over!

If you really must pick a broken feeble (GN 18 metres) vintage flash unit from among the hundreds of similar non-broken ones on Ebay, you can't really complain about the price of this because the "free" postage will cost the guy £3.10 (small parcel rate) leaving him only 90 pence for the brown paper, Sellotape, and his trouble.

But the joke is in the script :
Doesn't work, but what matters is that It looks OK, fits on a camera, and the owner didn't smoke!
If fitted to a DSLR it could end in tears. The previous owner may not have smoked but the new owner's camera just might start smoking. Some of these old time flashes generate very high voltages that will fry the digital circuitry. Then again, the thing doesn't actually work so we're good. One of those things that works better when it doesn't work.

OTOH, "some people" will unfortunately "fall for anything" -> dead DSLR.

And how about this Stigma lens? It will work on Canon EF, Nikon F (FX), Pentax KAF3, Sigma SA Bayonet and Sony/Minolta Alpha cameras. Yes, really. Sigh...

At least the fact that it has optical stabilization rules out K mount. No interest from me, then. At over $500 it's not exactly priced for a quick sale, anyway.

But OS doesn't rule out K-mount. Sigma only removed it from some shorter focal length lenses...

It really worries me to see all those vintage flash guns on Ebay, the vast majority cheap and nasty even in their heyday, probably with high trigger voltages but with no warning in the advert. I had one from my father (Sunpak GX18 AFAIR), measured the voltage at 200+, and threw it away rather than risk anyone putting it on a digital camera at some time in the future.

What makes a treadmill a ”woman's treadmill"? And why is it being advertised with a man using it?

Some good stuff in there, but I can't see how that justifies the asking price. The obstinate refusal to break up the "collection" doesn't help either.

Presumably it is being sold by a woman, who is keen to advise prospective purchasers that it has been owned and used by a woman ?

Obviously it is standard mill as shown in the stock photo accompanying the listing... and its not being advertised as a "women's treadmill"

Boots "Ticky" Flash Gun

Boots is a UK chemist chain that also used to sell low-end photo kit, some of it as their own brand.

This ancient Boots-branded bulb flash gun has surfaced on Ebay. He wants £2.99 (+ £3.60 post), but the joke here is that it still has the original Boots price label on it showing £1.69 ! I would date this as early 1970s, and even allowing for inflation that was dirt cheap. I expect it was a loss leader and they made money on the bulbs.

Tiny though it is, it packs a decent punch (or should I say kick?) with a GN of 32m. Whether you can get flash bulbs or its weird battery nowadays is another matter. Interestingly it says set the camera sync to "X" and use 1/30 sec, but I thought you were supposed to use the "M" sync setting for bulb flash on cameras of that era. I suppose 1/30 sec was long enough to bracket anything.

Someones going to be disappointed....

tamron camera lens 35-70m f3.5 adaptall-2 mount system | eBay

Love the way he confidently states ‘no fungus’ when he is apparently unable to read lettering on a lens.

Tamron. Tarenar. Close enough.

Or is that Carenar?

It's a CARENAR EEK

"EEK!" is what the buyer will say when they realise it is not a Tamron.
