Sometimes crappy listings work for you...

This was the first photo in a shopgoodwill listing.

The listing was for a Kodak Retina IIIc. Lowercase c, and this was the photo that showed up in the list view.

But the second photo was not a IIIc, it was a IIIC...

The IIIc sells for -$100 or less on eBay, the IIIC is 2 to 3x higher.

If anyone clicked through the photos maybe this turned them off...

But I got a IIIC for less than $120 before shipping. Assuming Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut didn't screw me and post the wrong photos...They did get me to shell out almost $160 for an Instamatic Reflex, but it had the Xenon 50/1.9 instead of the Xenar 45/2.8...

As were several of his other Kodak cameras.

Allegedly, there is but a thin line twixt optimism and insanity.

pentax kx film camera | eBay

Buy it now for £120 - not working, and the seller doesn't even know what's wrong with it.

I don't understand what we are seeing in the first picture, the frontal picture of the lens. Is that a reflection? It is as if there is something inside the lens. The smiley sticker does nothing for it, or is it rivetted on?

Why would you leave the sticker on? Probably takes all of 3 seconds to take it off. Does the seller think the buyer might be influenced positively by the sticker? To me it says either he’s trying to hide a flaw or else he is someone who wasn’t an enthusiast or perhaps didn’t care about his gear very much.

That yukky stuff showing theough the lens looks as if it has major problems with its prism. Either delamination or desilvering. Alternately its decayed crud on the focus screen....either would make it a non starter unless you happen to have a supply of spares. I love the way eBay sellers condidently state ‘could be repaired by somone who knows what they are doing’.....the same could be said for my car id is was wrapped round a tree but I wouldnt be asking the same price as a mint one.

An AF-200S Shoe Mount Copipod

Forgive me if I am confused. So I checked the buyers' reviews and this is one :

Although the camera is 30 years old the flash just completes the unit.
Nice pictures of the case and box, but shame they did not include one of the Copipod fitted in a hot shoe mount and flashing. It seems Copipods have a hidden talent.

As an assiduous seeker after knowledge, however arcane, I have messaged the seller requesting further information and clarification. Wonder what reply I shall receive - if any.

That's pretty good right there.^^^ Someone's going to get that and be mad that their thermos was replaced with a camera lens.

But no images of the lens - or even an indica tion there is indeed one in the case. The description is merely what is on the top cover.

My guess is it's only the case (why assume it has a lens?), and calling it a thermos was simply a lack of better term. I.e. It looks like a thermos shape case.
