OK, so it turns out the price isn't real, of course. He's actually asking for offers... but still
Must admit whenever I see ads like that I just think 'What a dumbell' and ignore.

While I think that every camera collection should have a copy of the worst camera ever made, $12 for something that should be disposed of?

You know it’s for pros because it has a flash and an optical lens…

Perhaps they put the decimal point in the wrong location?

I should think any lens that can focus to infinity can shoot over 200 feet

Why is it that people selling this sort of crap always say there is "only one left" . They paint a picture that there was a pile of these things surrounded by frantic buyers clawing their way to the front to obtain one. Reminds me of the scene around a table of petit fours at a friend's wedding reception a few years back.

Sirius Camera lens - 20 - 70mm - For Pentax K | eBay

Had they bothered to remove the filter, they would have seen it is actually 28-70. I know it is a charity, but surely they have access to people who can offer advice on items ? I have helped several charity shops price vinyl records (LPs and singles) appropriately.

Is this a deliberate cover-up? What connecting cable is that? A bit technical this one.

I have one of these Sunpak G4500DX hammer-heads (also sold as the "555") and it offers camera dedication - but only with a special module on the camera hot-shoe, connected to the unit with a proprietory multi-core cable with a multi-pin plug.

But you could alternatively connect it to the camera's X socket with a simple cable, with no dedication of course. In that case it is no better than the cheaper G4500 (without the "DX" =de-luxe?).

It looks to my practised eye as if the cable with this one is the simple X socket version. Nothing wrong with that if he were up front about it, but that it looks as if an attempt has been made to conceal the type of cable by covering it with the bracket. Why else would you put the cable awkwardly half-under that bracket for the photos? He also says it is for Canon, but there is no dedication module in the sale.

The special connecting cables for dedication can be hard to find and are not cheap if you do. The dedication modules are more common (as they were also used for shoe-mount units) and cost about £10.

Maybe by "compatible" with certain lenses, they are referring to the ability of a hanger strap to fit around the lens body? I can see wildlife photographers loving this. Lol
