This one is even worse. Out in the middle of nowhere too, almost to Vermont.

This one made me laugh initially... On Gumtree's UK site.

OK, so it turns out the price isn't real, of course. He's actually asking for offers... but still

@boriscleto You are such a hoot. I never go to either place but I’ll watch this thread for the grins.

I’ve always wondered if advertisements like this are for money laundering. Who in their right mind would pay this price for something other than that or some other illegal purpose.

Or do I just see dumb people everywhere.

That was one idea I had, but I have a feeling for this one they typed the number in yen, it'd be around $60, maybe a bargain price for a k10d? Their other stuff is priced a bit high, but not like this lol. Or maybe it's a gimmick to get people to look at their account.

This lot just sold for $76 on shopgoodwill. Probably because of the Canon A-1...

I know of a couple of things which can cause prices like that;
Firstly when they don't have an item to hand, but either expect to get one soon, or they know it's a popular search term, so want people to look at their account.
The other is when they have used an automated pricing algorithm to add something like 5% over the amount that an automatic search returns - if you get two people doing that and their searches find each other it can cause exponential price blow outs.

I suppose other options are people who genuinely think that old cameras are worth stupid amounts of money, people who use the wrong currency when listing, or people who are just taking the piss.

This guy originally wanted $650 for this piece of rubbish

The Asahi Pentax Spotmatic SP + Super-Takumar 50mm/1.4 lens Correspondence Kit! | eBay

I offered him some listing advice (and $5 for the kit). Suffice to say I was told to nick off. LOL

First read that at $65 and thought that isn't a bad price, but then realized I missed a zero. If that is the going rate I would sell my hard used Spotmatic F and SMC 55mm f1.8 lens. The wear on mine is real and it was CLAd last summer.
