Amen that. I took two complete systems with me for a 1 week trip to my dad's this past week. He's an m43 shooter so I brought my m43 gear (GX-1, 4 primes 2 zooms) and returned his lovely Panasonic 45-175 (slow but SHARP). I also took my K-3, my DA* 50-135, my DA 20-40, and my DA 12-24 as well as a Pentax AF540FGZ and a Pentax HD DA 1.4x Rear Converter. And of course I had the cell in my pocket - actually two of them, one iOS, and one Android.

I have a Pentax DSLR with me about 80-90% of the time, when I am looking for something smaller I usually take a Pentax film camera like the Super Program or LX. I do this more for the unobtrusiveness, than the weight/size; ironically these situations are usually when I go to photo galleries!

That's why my answer is almost always the MX, or sometimes the ME if I want to play around with colour film. Every now and then I take my late father in law's P3 to keep it supple, but the MX generally wears the A50/2.0 lens the P3 used to have (until my newly-bought M50/1.4 arrives).

For variety from time to time I'll take out an M42 body, most often the Spotmatic F with an SMC Tak, but right now it's the S1a with the 50/1.4 "Radio-Takumar" (always with black and white film, which doesn't mind the thoriated colour cast).

If I'm setting out on a deliberate photo journey I may take the *istDS (usually with an M42 lens on it), and for more special occasions the K-1.

Family holidays it's the K-5 with the DA 18-135/3.5-5.6, as I can't afford to juggle umpteen lenses when we're dashing hither and yon with kids, luggage etc.

Yup. K-01 with the M28/3.5. On very rare occasions, the M50/1.7 will replace/accompany it.

My K1 and whatever lens is required for the situation is what I leave the house with. I am fortunate to have a nice array of glass to choose from, from old Takumars to the latest DFA's, and a couple primes (31, 77, 100 mm). Always have at least one camera with me.

I usually have my Olympus tg5 in my pocketbook, it’s so light and easy to use. But when I go out with any possibility of birding or site seeing I take my Pentax k3ii with the 18-135 and my 35mm macro just in case I want detail

I always carry a backpack with me, so the camera goes along as well. If I'm in 'shoot mode', I'll throw the camera over my shoulder. I carry one or another type of Spotmatic (SP, SP1000 or SPII), as they are quite light and compact enough to not be in the way. For lenses, it's usually the S-M-C Takumar 35mm f3.5 (also a very compact lens) and maybe a Super Takumar 135mm f2.5 if I feel like lugging it along, too... a few filters and hoods and that's it. Around three pounds all together counting a lightly padded bag for inside the backpack... not too bad.

Do you always carry a camera? What did you pick? Why? And no, I'm not counting cell phones for this!

I decided last fall I wanted something I could always have in a leather messenger bag that started off life following me to work and for simplicity now gets grabbed whenever I go out the door. My K3 II just didn't fit and seemed too much. I ended up grabbing a Sony a6000 on a special from B&H with the Sony 16-50 lens and a deep discount on the 55-210 that seems to get offered frequently as an add on with that base a6000 kit. I was attracted to having the APS-C size sensor, being able to use my Pentax lenses if desired with an affordable adapter, and the general size and weight fit what I was willing to lug. I really don't need a lot in my leather bag, so I joke I have a small camera kit I carry to work and manage to fit a few other items into.

Of course, a combination of GAS and curiosity landed a Q-S1 in my lap this past spring. It is starting to go for rides in the bag too. Just depends on my mood.

So, where have you all landed on carrying a camera daily?
When I am home in Texas I do not carry my camera with me hardly ever. It depends on what I am doing and where I am going and a number of factors to determine if I take it or not. If I am traveling (IE in another country or something like that) I will have my camera on me 24-7.

Not always but usually K70 with 18-135 and a few primes. I've been considering a pancake 35mm for reducing kit size while mtn biking and long hikes.

I carry a bag with 3 lenses and my k-50 into the shop and move the strap to the camera when I go out to lunch. I get a few looks from the local tatoo wheel spinning redneck low IQ bunch, but as a 6ft 250lb ex mountain bike racer I don't pay them much mind.

my da35 has gotten a workout since I got it. Handles wonderful from the hip. Contemplating not even lugging the others to the big hillsville fleamarket event this weekend.

I *almost* always have either the GR II or the K-3 II. More the GR these days.

Most of the time I have one or two Pentax cameras with me, Lately the K1000 with the Takumar-A Zoom 70-200mm Lens loaded with Foma 400 film. I am working on testing the capabilities of Foma 400. Tomorrow I will have the K1000 and the SP500 that was delivered today. I may use some Ultrafine to check the camera shutter speeds, I have some left in one of the bulk loaders and need to use it. (No more 35mm ultrafine for me)

I don't have a Pentax digital camera, there may be one in the future. Lately I have been shooting mostly film.
