I've always thought a Leica X or X2 with a clip-on optical viewfinder would make a great always-with-me camera. And used prices are very reasonable now, certainly less than a new Fuji X100F.

But in the real world I use the Pentax K-S1 with either my Takumar 24mm/3.5 or 28mm/3.5. It's a great little camera, and while it's not pocket-sized I can easily carry it around on a wrist strap all day. If f/2.0 is essential, you could combine it with the Kiron 28m/2.0, which I've owned in the past and can confirm is a really excellent lens that I never should have sold.

After checking the available camera models, their technical parameters and seeing some sample photos, I think you are right. But... seems like I woke up too late (K-S1 not available in shops anymore).

The new Zeiss ZX1 could be nice to have, but... I expect the price will be extreme (in the Leica range ).

Suggested APS-C compacts

The Ricoh GR series are very pocketable with 28mm equivalent f/2.8 lens but no viewfinder.

The Fuji X100 series are a bit larger with 35mm equivalent f/2.0 lens and hybrid viewfinder.

If you are willing to buy used you might find a bargain on a earlier model.

No viewfinder though as per OP's specific request
P.S. and the lens is too slow....

Stick one of those hood things on it. I've never found the lack of a viewfinder to be a problem, and I've used them in all kinds fo situations. There are phones bigger than these things.
