Haven't bought a new lens in... almost 14 months. Despite having spent way too much time on PF If I can manage another couple of months 2018 will be the first entire year without any acquisitions since 2010. Scanning the local markets is a bad strategy, though

Yeah, this LBA can be a real problem, especially when it leads to TAS (Tripod Acquisition Syndrome) .
I'm battling that right now. I know a big and heavy tripod with a gimbal head will not see much use (if any at all!) and still...

It would appear to have an itch component though, as LBA is one I can't help but scratch at.

I propose that those allergic to chocolate use Ritz crackers as an alternate method of measurement. Lol.
if that is an official proposal, it needs to be vetted in the proper thread:

[ still wouldn't help me on the diet ]

my LBA is on hold while I wait to hear from Precision on the cost of repair of my HD Pentax-D FA* 70-200mm F2.8 ED DC AW

it is currently in Japan being evaluated

Shipping times can be just as painful as the dent in my wallet; LBA hurts My package will take a whopping 8(*) days. That feels like eternity because I've been spoiled by free overnight shipping from the big domestic shippers like Amazon and B&H.

I have a 300/2.8 plus 1.7x AF TC in transit. It's from the PF Marketplace. I've been casually watching there, ebay, craigslist, KEH, etc. for quite some time.

(*) 8 days total is pretty good for something that has to get through Customs so I'm not complaining, merely impatient to try the lens. I've got confidence in the delivery estimate because it's already finished Canada->USA Customs clearance.
