my photography seemed to travel two paths for 2018, if you follow my lenses:
1> macro lenses - I purchased multiple macro lenses in 2018, all of them are stunners: DA35/2.8 Limited, D FA 50/2.8, Sigma 70/2.8, Vivitar 55/2.8, Tamron 52B (90/2.5), and a Mamiya 60/2.8 - all stunners in their own right, but one did out-shine the rest. The HD DA 35mm f2.8 Macro Limited quickly became a favorite and is my 'deserted-isle' lens (if I could have one and only one lens)...
2> M42 lenses - I traveled back in time for this venture - I even bought an older DSLR body just for M42 lenses; within a short span of time, nine different lenses arrived and quickly worked their way into rotation in my Daily and Single challenge routines... some notable lenses: Soligor C/D 35/2 P, Super Takumar 55/1.8, S-M-C Takumar 105/1.8, Cosina 55/1.4, and the already noted Mamiya 60/2.8... but it's the Cosina 55mm f1.4 that has the most 'Art' to it...
the DA 35 Limited first:
such an easy lens to live with and love, beautiful build quality, and a hugely-useable lens
and the Cosina:
fabled Tomioka-design, etc - this lens is just a joy to use
