Or as an online photography guide:
Fly halfway around the world to take photos of the environmental impact of modern industrial technology in developing countries.
Replace your entire camera kit with brand new gear each year, so that you can capture said environmental impact using the latest modern technology.
On arrival at your destination, complain bitterly about the tourist hordes that have arrived with you on your flight and are spoiling your authentic experience as a true traveller and explorer.
If the local poor people you have come to photograph don't want to be the subject of your artistic endeavours, shoot anyway. Only a well-composed photo of that poor old lady with one arm waving you away with her remaining arm could possibly reveal the true sensitivity for her plight in your soul.
Consider joining an organised photographic tour group, on which some of the area's most aesthetically appealing poor folk will have been paid a dollar or two to pose mournfully for you and ten other snappers outside their hovels.
After a recuperative rest at a five star beach resort, fly home and post your deeply truthful and empathetic photos online.
