Dear fellow Pentaxians,

I unfortunately sold the rest of my Pentax gear yesterday evening. As I've gone to strobes and needed HSS for work, I found myself having to detach my emotions from my love for Pentax.
I have not been one to post much in this forum, but thank you all for the great content and advice. I will continue to browse PF but I unfortunately am no longer a true Pentaxian.

To my K-1, 31mm, 55mm... you fought with me until the very end. I will miss you dearly. Fortunately, they have landed in safe hands of a fellow Pentaxian, who said he frequents Pentax Forums.

Sorry to see you leave the Pentax fold, Steve, but we must use the equipment that suits our needs. It's far better to actively switch to something that works for us than to languish and become disgruntled, as a few folks tend to.

Oh, and you're just as welcome here as you were before, even with your new gear

One can indeed be "gruntled":

The verb disgruntle, which has been around since 1682, means "to make ill-humored or discontented." But dis- doesn't always work that way; in some rare cases it functions instead as an intensifier. Disgruntle developed from this intensifying sense of dis- plus gruntle, an old word (now used only in British dialect) meaning "to grumble." According to Terry Pratchett, it is indeed 'Gruntled' - but since this is applied to a policeman, it may be a subtle pun on the use of the epithet 'pig' for one of that profession ...

Understandable. Every system has strengths and weakness. Pentax' strength is not flash, although some Pentax users still do great work with flash.

Out of curiosity, what new system did you select?

If need HSS and I don't have the flash equipment for it, it cut the excess of ambient light with one of the ND filters I use for long exposure landscape. Simple, cheap, effective.

I thought you were making up a word until I googled it.

But, if i say I'm gruntled, what will people think I mean? The power of perception may play a role in diminishing the value of this word.

Bummer. My Pentax K-1 and K-3 seem to work well with TTL and HSS with my Godox strobes and Xpro-P transmitter. It would be nice to have more choices for gear and software that worked with Pentax, but for me this works. Good luck to you!
