as long as you are willing to walk back to your car and leave it the trunk, you can try

Coors Field did have [ in 2019 ] a tent set up outside of the gate where items not allowed inside could be checked and picked up after the game

NEW YORK — Major League Baseball issued a 60-game schedule Tuesday night that will start July 23 or 24 in empty ballparks as the sport tries to push ahead amid the coronavirus following months of acrimony.. . . the sides expanded the designated hitter to games involving National League teams for the first time and instituted the radical innovation of starting extra innings with a runner on second base.

Playoff teams remain at 10 for now — there is still talk of a possible expansion. The rejected deal had called for 16 teams.. . . Each team will play 10 games against each of its four division rivals and four games vs. each of the five clubs in the corresponding division in the other league, according to details obtained by The Associated Press.

A team is scheduled to make only one trip to each city it visits in MLB’s shortest season since 1878. A schedule of such brevity that some fans may question the legitimacy of records . . .

I hope some one like Seattle or Pittsburg wins it... It will be a sprint rather than the marathon MLB is...

PS - I am a Mets fan... I have to stay negative

I stopped attending professional sports years ago. I won’t pay the money to park, eat and sit in their seat. Bold emphasis is theirs. I have no idea what ”longer than the length of the camera body” means.
Restating from last year. When the Rams left St. Louis I discovered what I can do on Sundays in the fall. I’m so angry at these billionaire owners and deca-millionaire players I’m just going to ignore baseball and do something else in the summer.

I'm rooting for Cleveland in the AL

and if they don't play the Cubs in the WS, I'll stick with Cleveland

they are due: 72 years 1948 ( over the Boston Braves )

[ I'm a " pre69 " Cub fan ]

starting to read about MLB players deciding to sit out the season to protect themselves, career and family ( not necessarily in that order ):
QuoteQuote:
Nats’ Ryan Zimmerman, Joe Ross among first MLB players to opt out of 2020 season

Veteran first baseman Ryan Zimmerman and starting pitcher Joe Ross of the Washington Nationals were among the first major leaguers to opt out of the 2020 season because of concerns about the novel coronavirus — although with players due to begin reporting for mandatory virus testing this week ahead of Friday’s opening of “summer camps,” they almost certainly will not be the last.

The announcements from Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Mike Leake, then Ross and Zimmerman — none of whom are known to have medical concerns that would qualify them as high-risk, which would ensure they still are paid for 2020 — came in a span of several hours Monday afternoon and reflected concern among some players that the risk of playing baseball amid a global pandemic may not outweigh the rewards in all cases.

“After a great deal of thought and given my family circumstances — three young children, including a newborn, and a mother at high risk — I have decided not to participate in the 2020 season,” Zimmerman, 35, said in a statement Monday. “… I cannot speak for anyone else, but given the unusual nature of the season, this is the best decision for my family, and I truly appreciate the [Nationals’] understanding and support.” . . .

Under the terms of the health and safety agreement struck by Major League Baseball and its players’ union last week, only those players deemed high-risk — because of preexisting medical conditions that would make them vulnerable to the coronavirus — will receive their salaries and service time if they opt out.
Nats? Ryan Zimmerman, Joe Ross among first MLB players to opt out of 2020 season - The Washington Post

to me that is very understandable

I do wonder how much respect the team that wins the World Series will command when they did it in a 60 game season with only a short pre-season leading up to it.

Seems like a perfect situation for some odd team to catch fire for a couple of weeks and run away with it. (How often is the team leading in June fading in September?)

They should be respected. No one's fault the season got derailed... Same if Tony Gwynn would've gotten 3 more hits in that 1994 season (he would've hit .400)

The Yankees and the Expos had the best records in their respective leagues...

The Expos never recovered from that strike, neither did the Blue Jays. Took them 25 years and a move/name change to win a pennant & world series...

The Yanks went to become the wagon team thereafter... well, they had a good team, many farm-raised so I respected that late 1990's crew.

The Expos had a dynamite team - Pedro Martinez, Cliff Floyd, Moises Alou, Larry Walker to name a few future all-stars... They should get a team back up there... Move Miami or Tampa please!

In the last 20 years either the Yanks or Red Sox were in first place on June 15th in 17 of those years. So even in a 60 game season odds are that evil will beat good.

He's the face of the winningless Yanks...

And he did savour the playoffs - 1995 when that Seattle Monster team got the best of them (I was rooting for Seattle). If Seattle got into the WS that year they'd beaten the Braves... Seattle left everything against the Yanks that year. One of the best playoff series ever IMO. It really paved the way for believing in the Wild Card playoffs.

I already saw an issue with another USA league (MLS) - one team already withdrew from the scheduled competition (a tournament rather than their regular league)...

US Sports are going to suffer. People are suffering and still getting sick. There is no tough action taken to really stop the infection. I have to give it up to how NY and its Governor did their thing. They handled and are still handling business. But it is still ugly out there... a second, third, fourth wave should be planned for in all states at different times. Sad.
