But I'm sure, they will do you a good deal on the day... preferably before you go up in one of these contraptions.

I like all of those shots. Getting close to the launches is much better than being at a distance. Interesting lens choices.

I went to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta and it's a little bit overwhelming. If the weather cooperates they can launch five or six hundred balloons in two hours. I mostly used the 18-135 because of the range of focal lengths.

thank you. I'm pretty satisfied with the results, considering it was my first attempts.

my initial thoughts were the wide angle - Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSM to capture the largest amount I could and the telephoto HD Pentax-DA 55-300mm F4.5-6.3 ED PLM WR RE
for those aloft.

then I just played with those two

most of the balloons weren't going aloft, due to the winds, it was feared they were destined to come down in fields filled by crops, an expensive no no as the balloons owners would have to make good any loss by the farmer , that is what I was told when I asked why they weren't going up.

I was advised to head to Albuquerque where the balloons flew the " square " and returned to the launch point
