Pentax Photo Gallery (PPG) inquiry to Ricoh

Hello,

I sent an inquiry yesterday to Ricoh asking about the Pentax Photo Gallery. Yeah, I was bored
Honestly, I was not really expecting much of a response but today I got a response about my inquiry been forwarded to the web team and later got a response from a tech support rep saying it is been updated will be re-launched very soon.
Not really holding my breath but I just wanted to share this with you.

Thanks,

Hopefully they will update it enough that I can finish deleting my photos.

Shouldn't that be "It's dead, Jim...?"

I have used the quote before and it came back to life. But, now PPG is dead to Ricoh and should be dead to those of us who have images out there. I am sure that one of these days, the hosting platform will try to get ahold of someone at Ricoh to shut it down for good. Ricoh, of course, will not respond because they do not realize that PPG is even there and the site will be a memory.

The site was a child of Pentax USA, which does not exist anymore. When the latest certificate died, I sent a message via the site and never got a response. I asked Adam to question Ricoh about PPG last year and almost got banned by this site.

So it goes.

PPG is dead, upload the images you have on it to some other site if you want to show your work.

That's interesting - and sad - there's still a community tab with a user gallery feature on the European Ricoh Imaging website, though I seldom think of uploading anything there

PS - you do have to allow them to use the image without crediting you, though

On my walks last weekend I found a dead badger. Made a picture of it.....if you want to see it.....

PPG is lost long time ago when it didn't adapt to how the internet changed. Not worth putting time and energy in it to give it some life.

I did upload a couple after PPG was resurrected & got those approved along with images from 2018 before it went down. Unable to upload images to PPG any longer since the last couple of weeks.

RICOH US asked me to upload a picture three weeks ago as a part of their weekly photo contests, but I couldn’t. I guess it’s a bug on the web site, I could fill in the details about the picture and choose the picture, it all disappeared after clicking submit. I tried a couple of times, no luck
But it seems as if some are able to do it, after all, they show some of the pictures on RICOH Imaging on Facebook.

I've faced the same experience. Others who I know have had no such problem.
