I'm retired but before doing so I down sized my cameras and lens. My lenses now are only Excellent glass , 5 total with no plans to upgrade.

My G.A.S. is now on the computing and storage/backup side of things. I'm about to shed a few lenses and a Theta V (got the new Z1). But I always have my eyes peeled, and a new 645 body that had significant improvements would immediately turn my head.

My gear acquisition is between the big lens and challenging lens stages.

Guess who saw a newly appeared 28-105 WR on Ebay for exactly 300€ and pulled the trigger.

I should start going to Photographers Anonymous or something

I pretty much have what I need. My lens range is fleshed out from 10 to 500 and a couple good primes. I still want to upgrade my wide angle and telephoto zooms to Pentax offerings and get a faster 35mm prime but I can wait for now. I just need to get a newer bag and more variations of ND and some astro filters.

At $99 for Topaz Gigapixel AI, that's a pretty substantial saving over buying a medium format system for getting the same resolution. How about buying a larger printer to take advantage of Topaz Gigapixel AI ?
.
I already print on 24 inch wide 100 foot long rolls of photo paper. I think that's plenty big. How big is your printer?

GAS? It can't be avoided!

@Fenwoodian you mean you don't have GAS right now trust me it will come back...

As for me, I always have GAS, but I haven't been buying a lot of gear lately. If I didn't find a good local deal on some film lenses recently, I would have been some.... probably 2 years without buying any new gear.

But I do have GAS... I'd love a K-1, which in itself would open a whole new door for GAS, let's not even get into that

In my near future list I'd love to have a DA 21mm and maybe a 60-250mm. But the latter is clearly out of my budget. For the former, I think I can sell some things and raise the funds...

My GAS isn't great. I recently got a great deal on a lightly used KP. I've found it to be a great improvement over my KS-2 in the autofocus area. I even dialed in my old Tamron 28-75 F2.8 which hadn't seen much use since it never felt quite right on my other bodies. So now I'm thinking, maybe I should get a longer F2.8 lens and try some sports photog. Then the really evil side of my brain tells me that my Tamron (and FA50) is full frame compatible. I really need to ignore that!

Nope. GAS hasn’t gone away. Lens haul from local swap meet today includes the Tamron 60-300mm zoom in MINT condition. Notice how there is zero lens creep. $65 with immaculate condition original case.

The FA 100-300mm I got for $20. Seems to be adequately sharp on the K-1 stopped down a bit. This will tide me over till the 70-210mm f/4 on the roadmap comes out. I’ve owned the Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 but it was simply too heavy.

As for the F 28mm F2.8, I’ve never seen it used and for sale before. Paid $170 for it.

According to the Pentax Forums Lens Database, I think I did OK. :-)

Mine (2) maxes out at 63" and generally I load up 150' rolls.

There's virtually no limit to my printer size because I outsource printing.

I just bought a new (to me) camera and gave it to my wife saying she has now Christmas-gift for me So my GAS for the lenses is gone (it would be stupid to hide one...).
