I'm still using the free version of flickr. At the rate I'm going, it will be several years before I hit the 1000 limit. Otherwise it seems about the same as before.

You have some beautiful landscapes on Pbase.

Me too. It is nice to see what others are using and what is out there but I don't like change so I'm glad Flickr is still the place.

I am with flickr for several years now with not much to complain about. I am glad that they made it through the last several years of owner changes and whatnot with out much change to the way that the site operates on a daily basis.

Same here. I actually appreciate Flickr introducing the 1000 photo free limit. It means if you want to use Flickr as a dumping ground or are a wannabe 'influencer' (who'll probably use Instagram anyway), you have to pay for the privilege.

If you want to maintain a carefully curated portfolio of your best images, 1,000 is actually quite a lot, and might actually make Flickr a more interesting place to visit if people have to think before they upload.

I use Flickr and am quite comfortable with it. It's easy to post here or to other websites from my Flickr account so it does what I need.

Flickr for me at this stage, but if really into it, which I'm not at this stage, maybe 1x.com but I really don't know what they are like.

Yep. Me too. It's a very convenient place to put photos so I can access them from home, work, on the go (via the smartphone app). Image quality is good, direct upload from LR is very handy, linking to photos from PF, ability to limit access to some photos to just friends/family etc. I'm currently happy to pay for the Pro account...

I used to be pretty heavily active on Flickr but haven't posted there in over a year. When you ask if it's "the place," I assume you're referring to the community aspect? I've found a much better response with relevant comments on Instagram and in relevant Facebook groups. There was a mention of Smugmug - I've had my main website with them for a few years now and have been really happy with their support, layout options, and print sales experience.

Same here. Use it exclusively for posting my work on line, and like it.
My page is like a small unmarked art gallery in a back alley in the non-swanky part of town.

I use Flickr and it's a good option. 500px kinda fizzled in my opinion. Instagram is good if you shoot models because that's where the models are, and there is a lot of good street photography there, but it's substandard for other genres, I feel. Tumblr used to be good, now that the porn is (mostly) gone I was hoping it would rebound as a good photo sharing platform but I fear it's not to be. Photobucket has nothing to offer, I feel, and now charges too much for what they *do* offer. I have never used smugmug.
