For me it's the used smc PENTAX-FA 43mm F1.9 Limited that I picked up in July. It has spent a lot of time stuck to my K-1 Mark II since I got it.

right now, it would have to be either of the two latest lenses I've received, both of which I wanted to try out for a while...

Cosmicar 50mm f1.4 on a Pentax Q7:

Singer Ásrós Helga Guðmundsdóttir

The combination of its size, speed, rendering and effective FOV (230mm in FF equivalent) makes it my "lens of the year." Shown here (center):

My choice goes to a lens that I did not have in 2018, but had the chance to test thoroughly in 2019: the HD DA* 11-18mm. It is, by far, the lens that I was most surprised with.

Rather than repeating myself, I recommend a read of the review, at least the conclusion.

Still less than 3 pages..... and here this a a thread I thought would be popular for at least a few days. 60,000 forum members and 15 users have favourite lens, and can post a picture taken with it. What do you suppose it is?

Maybe a thread, "my favourite lens this week" and few picture from each would be in order. After all, which is my favourite lens depends on which day it is and what I'm shooting.

HD Pentax-DA 20-40mm F2.8-4 Limited DC WR

I acquired an HD DA 20-40mm Limited in 2019. When it was introduced, the retail price in Canada was CAD $1,000, which I thought was too high. Earlier this year, a retailer offered it for $725.

I find that this lens pairs very nicely with my DA* 50-135. I love its colour rendition, contrast, and sharpness. I find that I like it better in the 20-40 mm range compared to my DA 18-135, which is no slouch in its own right.

The HD 20-40 has become my lens of choice for classic car shows. Paired with a DA 15 Limited, it makes for a compact kit for these venues.

This is a hard question to answer, if it was which lens have you used the most, it would be the plm or the FA* 80-200, but some of my favotires this year have been with the DA*55 and DA* 300. But I think my winner is from the FA*design archives, The FA* 80-200. Just love the FA* rendering, and I even like the power zoom (other than the weight.)
If you have a huge, hi-resolution monitor, click for the Flickr large version. My cat had been batting at my Litra cube LED light when I was playing with the FA*. Then she lay down in front of it as if to say, "what's next?"

A lot of users have their on corners of the torums where they spned most of their time (as ell as huge numbers ho are no longer active - if youlook at the first page of older threads, there's usually only one or two people who've posted anything this year - but presumably the others stillcontribute to the 60,000... I'm often amazed by how few people vote in anonymous polls that would take a few seconds to enter and privide useful or interesting information for the community - but I think, as I say, that a lot of people stick to one or fwo forums and never even see them - anyay, side track over, just a thought

It's tough to choose just one lens, but I think the Tamron Adaptall-2 SP 90mm f/2.5 52BB is the lens that was most impactful to my photography this year.

Last year I was all about the DA20-40ltd. I didn't really think I needed a wider non-fisheye lens than 20mm but a few months ago I picked up a DA15ltd for a good price.
Now it controls my mind lol
The depth of field this little jewel is capable of is mind boggling. It also slips into a pocket almost unnoticed for traveling light. Oh, and starbursts!

So many good photos and lenses mentioned here. I remember I give DA21 SMC the lens of my 2018, and this year I was about to go with DA*55 because I clearly use it more and I like it, but last weekend I went out with the DA21 for a photo walk in Tokyo... and I come back with this shot.
When I don't know what should I have with me, 21 is always the first choice for me. it is such an easy-to-use lens. Basically it never fails me. So this year I think I will go with the 21 SMC again!

I can't disagree with this!

Since you mention starbursts, I assume you have the SMC version, not the HD? The lens is not very prone to flare, so the superior coating is not a huge advantage.
