Do you have other angles?

Film length in feet suggests movie camera... but a little out of my realm...

I believe it's a "Ciné-Kodak Model A Type II" - like this one:

I started by Googling "vintage cine box camera". Looking through the first page of images, I found something that looked like it on pinterest, titled "cine kodak model a 16mm", so I googled that and found this YouTube video in the results...

I was just about to type "The new Pentax mirrorless full frame", but @BigMackCam beat me to the punch. Well done.

Well spotted and thanks for wasting another 30 minutes of my time looking at these things! Love the mechanical details in these things.

Thanks!! I did google "vintage box camera" or combinations thereof, with other additional terms, but never got a similar image. I even uploaded this image that I took to the google image search engine and got a bunch of safes, telephones, and a few cameras that were not a match.

Someone was using this to take video (I guess) of the 4014 Big Boy steam locomotive as it departed Kansas City a few days ago, and I took a couple of shots as I passed it by because of it's coolness. There was no one there operating it... a crowd of people all around, so I suppose the operator was out getting other angles with a diff't camera... or was perhaps an invisible ghost him- or her-self?

I did a search on "hand crank camera" and came up with hits for the Kodak camera. Since Mike beat me to the posting by a minute or so I didn't bother with a redundant post

My irreverent response: "Wicked old"

If many would be believed, it's probably better at capturing video than a Pentax DSLR 🙂
