I don't think I really have any one focal length that I'd use most often. Every time I think I've spent enough time with one FOV, I switch to something else. I suppose I appreciate the versatility of the DA 21mm the most, but on film I use either my 28mm or 35mm to approximate the same FOV, otherwise my 50mm is more used on film (yet my 35mm is used less on APS-C.)

I think if I had the 31mm, it would probably become my most used lens across film+APS-C because it's in the normal range in both formats, but even then I'd still need the 21mm for APS-C and my 50mm for film.

Ask me again once I've collected the 31mm, 40mm and 70mm lenses, because only then will I have a complete set of the most practical focal lengths.

Probably most used is the 50ish mil but I am quite fond of 85ish lenses, I used to do a lot of model shoots years ago but Probably my best shots have been done with 135 length though.

Using "pepperberry farm" logic my favourite range isto 35 to 50, I have 6 lens for that range, I thought I had too much, I was wrong, it's a useful measurement unit

As my favorite types of photography are Nightscapes and Landscapes, I like it very wide. 15mm to 30mm

But then if there is any wildlife, I am at the other end of the spectrum at 400 to 500.

I guess I like the extremes.

My favorite is my new to me, DA 55-300mm WR ED. It has not been off my K-50 white knight since I bought it. And since I don't have the shortest prime yet, I use it most often.

But what focal length?

We're talking focal lengths, not lenses

Mostly, 300mm. The hawk I shot was at 170mm because I was so close to him, but normally, always at 300mm.

My two most used focal lengths for my film camera(s) is a 35mm f2.8 (short focus throw is very annoying, may sell it or trade it) & 50mm f1.7
