Looking for middle brother for my batteries

Looked at my batteries today and turned out they are 1 number apart

One was bought on Amazon around Oct 2015, another came from B&H in k3ii in Feb 2016

Most obvious reason could be that Ricoh sold total of 3 batteries in 4 months in US

Although, there is a negligible chance that it is pure coincidence

That's not a serial number, that's a date code: year and month. Batteries are manufactured into production lots. I bought two batteries one year apart but both were manufactured a couple months apart (unfortunately, as wanted to have the latest purchase from a newer batch). Li-Ion batteries age in storage, so it's better when the battery we buy is from a recent production lot. I'll buy another set of D-LI90 next year, hopefully from second half of 2019 production lots, or maybe I have to wait until end-2020 to get 2019## date code.

As said above, that's not a unique serial number but rather a batch code. So, assuming batches were made on '08', you might still reasonably
complete your sequential run.
