Looking for websites of good photos of mundane things.

One of the photo projects I'm setting for myself this year is to try and take interesting photo's of mundane / everyday things and situations (because that's the sort of area I live in). I'm looking for inspiration and ideas so does anyone have any recommendations of websites of photographers who take good photo's of mundane things?

In case you haven't seen them, there's plenty right here!
Try these:
Macro shots of everyday objects - PentaxForums.com
Still Life, Staged, and contrived shots - PentaxForums.com
Everyday Objects - PentaxForums.com

There's also plenty of groups on Flickr that I visit for images of the everyday/mundane. Did you have a particular focus in mind? (Still life, random things found on the street, tools, shoes, etc.) If so that might help narrow the list of suggestions down some.

Thanks. As for specific areas of interest - generally stuff you'd see walking around but not involving people (I'm not confident enough for that), close up, abstracts.... that sort of thing.

I'll look through my Flickr groups and be back with links. Sounds like we have similar interests. I will share one of my photo project ideas that I've never gotten around to doing which might fit the bill: take a picture of all the items I touch throughout a single day. Figured I'd just keep log everything from a typical day in my life and then go back and shoot them one at a time over the course of a month or so.

Are you on Instagram? There are a few accounts I follow there that focus on this sort of material; I'll share those as well if you'd be interested.

Your shots are quite interesting. You underestimate your creative nature.

I to recommend looking at the "single in" daily challenge.... maybe even giving it a go...... sorta forces you over time to really look at everyday things in creative ways....

I don't think I would have taken a picture whilst grinding a fence post if I didn't get involved in it from time to time

Interesting is often just a different way of seeing things. It's not easy for me but sometimes the right vibe hits.

I would never categorize the work of Pepperberry as mundane, maybe the subjects are, but the the photos are some of the best.

As promised, here's a few Flickr groups I follow that I think fit the "mundane items" theme:
Historical Town Clocks
Toy Stories
Manhole Covers
Beauty in the Mundane

Look up the work of William Eggleston. He is basically the reference (to me) of great pictures of mundane things. Most of his work is from the 70s but it still translates well, I think.

You could add to the mundane by looking for the following in every day, mundane objects. Ones that come to mind of so many:

# Compose with odd, dynamic shapes, angles etc. Forget the subject, just see the shapes and forms
# Compose with contrasts. Look for strong lighting, eg backlighting. Again forget the subject matter.
# Look for patterns and repetition.
# Plays of light. Shafts through windows. Reflections. Light through grids.
# Minimalism. Juxtaposition - beauty v ugly; rough v smooth; old v new

The possibilities are endless ...
