Ever since childhood, I was always drawn to strong BW images, including those used by Hollywood to publicize their stars. I'm also very interested in BTS videos for all sorts of subjects, the creative process and hearing from people who really know their craft and their tools, but also mix their knowledge to synthesize past practices into new results. I'm also becoming more interested in studio settings and artificial lighting, so this photographer's has been in heavy rotation on my playlist.

Here's a guy talking about the relative value of different kinds of cameras, mainly talking about sensor size and the importance of various characteristics of DSLR cameras. I liked the vid because the guy has a great sense of humor - if he weren't serious about his conclusions, it'd be good comedy. (e.g., if I may paraphrase, if your pictures are bad, it's because there's something wrong with you, not the technology. He uses an expletive, a euphemism for fellatio, though I have never understood why that term should be considered pejorative.)

I am interested in trying studio created images and artificial lighting. If circumstances allow, I hope to declutter a room in our house which has become a def facto storage area, and use it in part for some practice as a studio.
Thos pro's tips and BTS videos are very informative.

Very good video.
Except they didn't use Rawtherapee, the gold standard for pixelshift! They clearly don't understand the feature and that four separate raws are included in one dng which means sorting out blending artefacts is up to the software.

Perhaps that would have made a difference. In any case, their assessment will not make me divest myself from Pentax gear.

My comment was related to the video posted by @Sunburn

Since I had the opportunity to be the impromptu photographer at a wedding, I'm more interested in the subject now.

Unfortunately the thumbnail to that video show a photograph that sucks! Perhaps he's colour blind. His tips makes sense though.

Bad weather makes great pictures, if you are prepared and adaptable.
