Tamron 10 - 24mm vs Pentax 15 - 30 F2.8

Anyone have experience using both of these ?

I have 2 bodies and do some real estate and the majority is in 3 or 5 frame hdr.

So I have the Tamron and use the K3 II but I am considering the 15 - 30 as I already have the K1 body.

Yes, the weight is a factor but I have a second tripod which can handle it .

So the question is will the Pentax lens give me a visible difference in overall quality?

Looking forward to your reply.

Here is the recent work with the Tamron lens: Real Estate Photography - Spurgin Photo

I might be crazy, but I don't think your clients will notice the difference since they mostly consume their media on small screen devices..
A step up to full frame would be noticeable if you were printing large images.
I think the full frame sensor would produce cleaner images that would be noticeable if you were only working with one image and trying to recover lots of shadows and highlights, but since you 3-5 image hdr I don't think the detail recovery would be appreciable.
My 2 cents says stay with the more affordable and lighter setup.

Great images btw

I might suggest shooting at lower ISO on a tripod with a 2 second timer to reduce the noise... or if maybe ya get the 15-30 if you feel the K-1 has way better noise control and you want to keep shooting at ISO 800 (?)

I had the Tamron a few years ago and used it with a K-3. Very nice lens but the K-1 and the 15-30 are much better, particularly in the corners. Nevertheless, based on your pictures I don't think you "need" to spend $1000 on that lens.

I did a comparison of the Pentax 15-30 to Tamron 10-24 (plus DA 15, Samyang 14) a few years ago. The 10-24 is the 1st image below, the 15-30 is second. All 4 lenses can be seen in larger sizes at Wide Angle Lens Test | Flickr.

For real estate purposes, the glare from lights looks better with the 15-30 than the 10-24. I think it's a small enough difference that it won't make a difference to your clients.

Thanks for the great info guys. I will stay with the 10 - 24. Much easier to handle too. Yes I will attempt to lower the iso some but most of the noise is invisible.

I think that is a good decision, for this type of photography I would just use a tripod and shoot at ISO 100. I used to have the 10-24 and the biggest fault was flare when pointed at a bright light source which you should not have too often, if so take another lens and stitch shots together. It looks as though you have distortion conquered too.
