I think that is a good decision, for this type of photography I would just use a tripod and shoot at ISO 100. I used to have the 10-24 and the biggest fault was flare when pointed at a bright light source which you should not have too often, if so take another lens and stitch shots together. It looks as though you have distortion conquered too.
