I doubt it was anything other than someone thinking it would be a good idea. The hue is the sort of red you’ll find in a common spray can, and the coating over the body name plate looks thin, although that may just be the quality of the image. Also, the most prominent lettering on the body hasn’t been picked out in white. A waste of effort, in my view, and more likely to devalue the camera than improve it, but someone may like it enough to pay a premium for it.
