That's what the M 50/2 is for.

Since I never know which lens I'll want to use - body cap on body, rear lens caps on each lens I own, so I can take any of them out; and genuine M42 to Pk adapter in camera bag, in case vintage glass comes with me.

Photography is a real tactile hobby and I enjoy handling and looking over my equipment as much as I do taking pictures.
When returning from a photo trip, I set up my main kit on a display area - including putting body caps on the cameras!
I really enjoy the Pentax branded k-mount body caps that have the little white dot at the top.
These caps lock into place like a bayonet lens. It doesn't fall off like the newer plug-type caps.

I have one in each of my camera bags but I seldom, if ever, put one on the camera. Each of my camera bodies has a 'default' lens that stays installed at all times so the sensor is protected and the camera is always ready to go.

Why yes. Yes I do. Even the one for the Spotmatic II I got in the early 1970's.

I have no idea where my body caps are! My K-3II has the 20-40 on it even when not in use, and it's as easy to swap over lenses if I want to use a different one as it would be, taking a body cap off. Before I gave my K-5 to my son (which now lives with a DA 35mm Limited Macro on it), its body cap was the DA16-45. My *istDS has the K40/2.8 currently on it as a body cap.

Isn't that the kit lens's job?
All kidding aside all of the cameras that came with body caps I know where they are. That being said only 3 of my 8 cameras came with actual body caps.

Yes, for the K-3 (is in original box) and yes for my original Ricoh XR7 and several other cameras. Those caps are in a box that I keep for lens caps, hoods, and related goodies.

Too many earthquakes here for open shelf storage like that! Does look good though!

Mine are floating between extension tubes, bellows, tele-converters, a Pentax Program-A or sometimes just inside a lens mount cap - just never exactly where I need them.

I always keep a lens on all of my cameras. The body caps are in a drawer of my desk if I should need one of them. I have used the body caps when sending a camera in for service

Same here, although I do keep one in the box of spare caps so it's handy if I need it in a hurry.
