eBay purchases from JAPAN

Examine the photos and descriptions. I've had very good experiences with some sellers sending additional photos if I saw something fishy. They were very quick with getting back to me and sent more photos than I needed to identify (or not) the defect I thought I saw. Overall, a much better buying experience and usually price competitive with sellers on this forum.

I had a great experience with mapcamera out of Japan last week: I ordered a lens Sunday night and it arrived in California (through a hub in Cincinnati) Tuesday afternoon. Everything as described, used with very light scratches on the lens itself but the glass is flawless and in perfect working condition, as far as I can tell. There were no import duties, but this will depend on where you're purchasing from.

I had a great experience with kenidiom11 on a SIGMA APO 50-500mm F/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM a few months back. Given the potential cost to return if there were a problem and US Sigma's aversion to repairing lenses not originally bought from the US, I opted to buy the square trade 1 yr warranty for appx 10% of the price. The combined cost was still far less than similar US eBay offerings.
