The happiness in that shot is infectious.

She reminds me of Laurie Partridge (Susan Dey) at first glance.

I am confused. What does the title “ Happiness in selfie almost looks real” mean? What am I missing?

Golly, it’s terrible to be old.

The joke in my mind is that forced smiles in many selfies make all selfies look like any happiness is faked... So the joke is that this almost looks real and thus newsworthy... .

Okay. I thank everyone for cluing me in.

While I was an early adopter with computers – back to the Apple //e with 128k floppies – I am a complete Luddite about social media and the world of texting and selfies.

I have heard of The Onion and I think I even looked at the site once or twice any number of years ago. If I remember correctly, it is sort of like an online version the old Mad Magazine. But I think I last read Mad in my freshman year of college which would have been 1960-61. So The Onion was not anywhere in my active mind.
