That's awful. Sorry to see this! I hope you can fix it but if not I hope you used it until the wheels were about to fall off anyway...

Nobody wants to see carnage like that!

Do keep us posted on whether or not it's repairable. Always interested in learning the outcome (for when I inevitably do something similar... ).

I know the sinking feeling that comes after a tripod accident and feel your pain. With any luck, perhaps you have homeowners or renters insurance that may cover the loss?

I do have a dead K-x and a dead K-30. I'm not too sure about it though. I had chunks of plastic flaking off around the mount area from the body. The lens was a Tokina 76-260 which is built like a tank and weighs... a lot. The lens cost me $30 and came out unharmed.

We do, actually. I'm not sure how I'd even go about filing a claim on it, though.
