Pentax AF280T, 140

These generally sell for around 25. I got a mint one for 5, but that was a bit lucky.

But what is so funny about this one is that they pasted a copy of the history of Pentax from Wikipedia, including treating us to its name in Japanese characters. Yes we really needed to know all that. They don't say a lot about the flash unit itself though.

showing $11.95, but now, used, they want $74.69
I would say the original bears no link to the current asked price. The asked price is way overboard but it COULD have been fair regardless of the original price.

I think we have featured this seller here in the past. He has hundreds of items at bonkers high prices, like two pairs of industrial gloves "very well used" for 200. He has a lot of positive feedback but it all seems to be for him as a buyer, not as a seller. I don't understand what he is up to : is he hoping people will buy his stuff without noticing the price, or is there something else going on?

Money laundering is a thing these days.

QuoteQuote:
The proceeds of crime are increasingly laundered online, using methods ranging from improbably expensive ebooks and eBay listings to cryptocurrencies such as ZCash and thousands of micropayments through online transaction systems (The Guardian). Research indicates that around $200 billion is laundered online every year, of a worldwide money laundering total estimated by the UN to be in the region of $2 trillion. Other 'cyberlaundering' tactics for erasing the criminal origins of money include using Uber to book "ghost journeys", booking Airbnb rooms that will never be used and buying and selling expensive, tradeable items in games including FIFA and CounterStrike.
