£848 per month for two years really brings the price home. At least you get end caps. But I already have one of these, cost me £30.

This is his only item for sale, yet he is registered as a 'business seller'. The item is apparently located in Lincolnshire - yet his registered address is in Lancashire. These two facts alone would set alarm bells ringing. Returns are accepted, but one wonders on what basis. I know the principle of caveat emptor, but this does seem to be pushing things a bit.

GBP1000 for a 5+ year old camera from a dead, unsupported line is about as crazy and overpriced as it gets.

Can't accuse this dealer of being cheap. Nearly £75 for a entry level F2 standard lens and nearly £35 for a used yellow filter. That was the Pentax kit lens of the late 70's, came with most K1000s, and the average Ebay sold price is around £15. As for the filter, I've got so many of them that I must be rich without having realised it.

I like the "bought by a semi professional" There must be a grey area between getting paid and not getting paid.

I have described my father as that - he took weddings on Saturdays, working for a local studio, but had an unrelated day job, and photography was also a hobby. I learned photography at his knee.

But I don't get why that is supposed to make that job-lot more attractive to a buyer (if it does) - professional kit is more likely to have been worked hard and knocked about. I prefer to buy used kit from careful amateurs. I avoid buying used kit from dealers too, even though they announce that they are dealers like it is meant to be a good thing.

Your father sounds like he really was a professional. Especially if he shot weddings and worked in a studio. I like the title "part-time professional" more than semi pro. 😉

You are probably right. Outside of any legal definitions (I.e. Licencing requirements for some professions), what does being a professional mean? For some, it could be how the photographer approaches his work. Others it could be if the photographer is being paid. Others may believe it's not enough to be paid, but that it's his primary source of income.
