Wish I could go back and explore some of these places, but many are probably gone by now and I couldn't match these photos anyway!
Funny thing about small town Saskatchewan is that derelict buildings stay up a very long time. There aren't new buildings to go up in the same location and no one feels compelled to demolish them, not even through vandalism. I grew up in rural Alberta and didn't move to Saskatchewan until I was 31; where I came from, if a structure no longer served a purpose, it came down in a relatively short period of time, even if it was replaced by a vacant lot or an empty space in the yard. Thanks for sharing the link to this book, I'll have to start leaving hints that it would make a nice Christmas gift.

Saskatchewan is such a sparsely populated place that landscape photography tends to draw the most attention; plus outstanding portrait photography takes skills and perception that amateur dabblers tend to lack. .
