Cameras You Love So Much That One Copy Is Just Not Enough

.
We've all got our favorite digital cameras. I'd argue, that if you are serious about your photography (and are not sleeping under a bridge somewhere) that the true mark of having a love affair with a camera is having more than one copy of it.

Here's the cameras that I own multiple copies of (and why).

Pentax K-1 (best serious stills camera I've ever owned)
Pentax K10D (lovely colors from CCD sensor)
Nikon D200 (lovely colors from CCD sensor)
Fuji XE3 (love the ergonomics of the XE line, and terrific video camera - both 1080p & 4K)
Panasonic GX85 (small, with insane bokeh when using a Metabones Speed Booster & fast/old/manual-focus/prime/full-frame lenses)

Now let's see your list of beloved cameras that you have multiple copies of, and why you love them!

The flip side is that one might love a camera so much that one can't bear the thought of looking at, let alone touching another body!

I guess I've always been serially monogcamerous with the K-1 being my current photon collecting companion.

If I had a second K-1, I'd be forever agonizing over which one to take for a photo-outing: the older one with it's telltale evidence of the past scrapes of shared adventures or the new one that is unblemished but eager to see the world. Too much pressure! Too much jealousy! I'd better stick to one K-1! ;-)

No dupes on digitals (too expensive IMHO - I'd rather splurge on lenses!).

However, I/we did wind up with two ME Supers back in the film days - one for me, one for my wife. When we traveled, I took all three lenses I then owned (28, 50, and 135; much worse nowadays!) and two of them (mostly the 28 and 50) lived on a camera, so we could swap back and forth in a hurry depending on who wanted a shot (the 135 went on when necessary).

I've owned a Chinon CE-5 (came to me damaged but working and then I killed it with a drop), I currently shoot with a CE-4 as part of my revolving trio of film bodies, and I have an excellent copy of the Revue AC-3 which is basically a rebadged Chinon CE-4S waiting for its turn.

Obviously I didn't follow instructions on this thread since these are all 35mm film bodies but I'll allow it. I like the display in the viewfinder, the "accurate enough" metering with auto exposure mode, and the general sound and feel of the things. They're nice shooters.

You're very lucky to have more than one of any body, most of us just can't afford that. However I think I have 3 copies of the Mamiya Sekor 500 DTL. Of course I have never used any of them, they came as rear lens caps in auctions.

Because of the obsolescence factor, I've never owned two of the same model digital.

For film though, I do have pairs: Two Nikon F3HP and a Pentax 645 and a 645N (not twins, but younger sibling).

I have two K-1 Mark II bodies - one silver, one black. If I had a failure I'd be very sorry if I didn't have a backup.

Likewise, a few years ago when I was shooting live music regularly, I had two K-5's

Recently, I even had two 645Z's for a short while, but that was clearly a silly extravagance which could not be allowed to continue

No dupes here, just a KP and a K3, both get equal amounts of love.

Two KP's here - I had a black one but had to get a silver sibling when I bought a silver DA35 macro from a member here and realised that silver lenses on black bodies doesn't look right.

film: 2 Spotmatics;
Digital:
2 K-x,
2 Q (actually 3, don't recall how that happened),
2 K-5,
2 Nikon D700
Mostly (except for Q's and spottys) I have two because I use them for theatre photography so I can choose the lens (already mounted) I want quickly, and in theatre/with audience I want to know where everything is w/o commotion, low light, etc. Actually I should instead have 4 of each as I use 4 cameras in a large bag--so I can choose from fisheye to telephoto, but that is too much to buy--instead I upgrade two at a time.

1st ME Super belonged to my father. 2nd ME Super is to be sacrificed for parts to keep no 1 alive. BTW my father is 92 and still going strong.

2 K1's.... black and silver. Black one stays on my 150-450.... the Silver one is mostly for my primes. I figure one day only one will be broken and I'll most likely be broken before the second one.... for now I like the redundancy aspect as well.

Not sure what I will do when a K1new comes along.... anyway... K1 is all the camera I need.... I think I've even out grown the use/need of a faster deeper buffer/shutter these days....
