Very nice indeed. Those early volumes are a mixture of chemistry, optics, community sharing of experiences with different processes, society business, letters, ads and more. The level of chemical knowledge is impressive, and there is some decent mathematics in optics contributions. Everything was yet to be tried and worked out.
