Pentax hasn't exactly been a "tech heavy" company.
Its just a name on the top of a Ricoh Dslr....Whatever company it keeps is determined by the $$$ outlayed.

Indeed. As someone else said earlier in this thread, find the glass you like and buy the camera that fits

When I moved to Pentax Digital from film I started out with the 35mm Limited Macro and DA 70mm but didnt get on with the latter so, moved to a 58mm Voigltander. Over time I picked up some manual focus PKA (mint 28mm, 100mm and 135mm). Have been looking for older glass (already have a couple of genuine M42 adaptors) but yet to find something nice enough - probably need to get to a camera fair when lockdown ends

I found the 28mm disappointing / restricting, tried the 40mm limited but it didnt really do anything new for me so added the 20-40mm when that came out - its rarely off my camera these days, unless I am doing portraits.
I love the sharpness and form factor of the 40mm limited but I only really got it because I want the set and it was cheap as for vintage, I have some lovely m42s including tomiokas and old Zeiss. They possibly aren't as sharp as the limiteds but that's missing the point. Vintage glass for me is all about how lovely they are to handle and the character of the raw files. .... I suddenly feel the need to take my Auto Yashinon 5.5cm for a walk

That's probably the lens I'd like most that I never bought.

It certainly looks like they are just waiting for parts, they are almost certainly already working on the next K-1 series, or possibly the next 645z, or possibly K-P.

I'm just satisfied if my ducks are in a row.
