Nova Scotia to see the whales and puffins
All the way down the east coast to Florida Keys
Then going west through the gulf states
All the way to New Mexico
Then Colorado, Utah, Arizona
Nevada, California, Oregon
Washington, Idaho
Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska
Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana
Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, NY (visiting all the Great Lakes)
Or maybe I'll do Nova Scotia last.

Making Stops at:
Rio Grande
Grand Canyon
Redwood State Park
Mojave
Death Valley
Yosemite
Mt Rushmore
Yellowstone
Boise Nat'l Forest
Niagra Falls

I sympathize with this, as I tend to shoot whatever interesting I happen to see and recognize wherever I happen to be with my camera. And I realize it's all about learning to see better, thus getting to take better photos. A slow but often rewarding process.

Going this way, several buckets come and go! At the moment I'm hoping to learn more about landscape photography and on the other hand, maybe purching DFA 150-450

Yellowstone: Wild Bison, Wolves, Etc. Geysers hot springs landscapes, Astro Landscapes

Grand Teton: Landscapes, Astro Landscapes

Glacier National: Landscapes, Astro Landscapes

For me, my "bucket list" of places to go are:

Los Angeles/Beach areas (Long Beach/Santa Monica). Mmost likely since I live an hour away and can get there by train, main thing is when I'm able to force myself to go.

New Orleans, LA
Paris, France
Alaska (well, actually anywhere in North America where the danger floofs 🐻 are)

Bucket list:
1). Yosemite - Never been there.
2). Smalls Falls in Rangeley, Maine with good Fall colors and blue sky. usually I get one or the other…
3). Solar Eclipse
4). Lightning Strike (over NYC?) - Watched a good storm from LaGuardia but I had no camera gear.
5). Return visit to The Badlands in South Dakota - Only had about an hour there.
6). Milky Way Pano - I do astro but haven’t tried stitching star shots.

Equipment-wise, it would be nice to try a 1000 or 2000 mm sports lens. I used to shoot college basketball with a 28-90 mm from under the hoop after I “accidentally” got a press pass. Would be nice to try a pro lens.

Mooncatt – You might want to use my yellow safety vest ploy. A high-visibility safety vest allows you to be almost invisible. You can go many places with no problem. I wander around railroad yards and often gets nods of hello, but no questions. Add a hard hat (dirty, not shiny new) and it is like you have a passport.

Also, if the Covid dies down enough and I can work out the logistics, I would like to pursue my Girl with the Pearl Earring portrait idea. I live in what may be the most diverse county in the country, and my thought is to take portrait photos of girls and women from all races, cultures, and ethnicities while they are dressed and posed as in Vermeer's painitng.

You will absolutely love this trip. I made the same trip 2 years ago. Those are some of the places where you accidently fire the shutter while getting the camera out of the bag and still get a good photo.

You and I think alike. Don't skip over Utah. Absolutely beautiful. Just spent a month there living in a SUV and tent.

For me it's mainly a list of places. I'd really like to go to turkey or anywhere (safe) in the Middle East. There are a lot of places of natural beauty on a scale I'm not used to in the USA, so I'd love to see some of those places.

But I do think there is an argument for seeing where life takes you, and appreciating the places around you. I've never been to a place that wasn't interesting in some way, and I'm sure there are opportunities for photography anywhere.

This is actually a difficult question for me. I've already been able to do so much. The vast majority of the trips I have been on I didn't have anything other than a point and shoot.

I can think of hundreds of places I would love to go back to with more formal gear.

More than just the cool places I want to document me doing tons of cool stuff.

A Sportsmobile! A wonderful vehicle. Our first RV was a Dodge Van-based Sportsmobile with the same pop-top shown in your photo. It was great fun.

The only problem with the Sportsmobile is that it grew into a 26 foot Class C van-based motorhome. That one then grew again, and now what started out as a Sportsmobile with a pop-top is a full-blown 36 foot Winnebago with 2 slide outs and all the comforts of home.
