One of the results of my GAS is problems deciding what to bring/carry on trips and take out with me when I want to take photos

Currently on trip to Phoenix for 3 baseball games and first to trip to GC

at GC I had K10d and K1 II with 2 wide angles a 50 1.2 and D FA 100

Left the K 3 III and D FA * 70- 200 in hotel back in Phoenix

Then the two California Condors showed up 2 of 70 known to be somewhere in the 250 miles plus length of the GC

( BRAIN FREEZE I forgot I had the 100mm on the K 1 II. I thought I had another WA on it )

I was trying to capture images with the K10d and wide angle

At least I will always have the memory

Tough break, that must have been quite a sight.

Ouch! I don't have that many lenses, but I will always force myself to bring only two lenses in my bag when I go walking. There were times when I wish it was the M300/4 instead of the 28 takumar...

My wife has allowed me to acquire a nice collection

My job is to find gear, new or experienced at good prices

And if I buy it, I carry it

DA 16-85 and da 55-300 PLM would have been all you needed.
The problem with primes when you don't know what you're getting is, you don't know what you'll need. When we travel the DA 55-300 is always on the camera. for wide angle images, you almost always have time to change lenses.
Every now and then the 55-300 is even wide enough for landscape.

I don't think I, or anyone :-) ,can compete with you on the bag front.
There are worst people on the web, for sure But I do see a lot of bags come and go.

I bought a Tenba BYOB 10 recently.
I hear good things about this one.

Heheh, I'm the opposite. I can't keep a bag for long, every time I buy one it's for a special purpose or a trip, and when it's over I am in such dislike of the bag that I move it on. Some of us just don't get along with bags...
You simply haven't found the right one Or it doesn't yet exist.

I have a few bags that I really love, and am happy to get back on my shoulders.

Now there is a thought. I am rearranging my bag to make room for storing a body with telephoto mounted.

That makes very good sense.

I could have hauled the PLM with me to Phoenix but decided not to since I had been successful at ballgames with the D FA * 70-200mm F2.8 and I never expected to see any wildlife ( silly me ) at the GC I was going to be interested in photographing

live and learn

These days, I leave the DA 55-300 home, only if I expect to be shooting in low light. But if you were shooting night games, the 70-200 probably makes more sense.

I noticed that the less I shoot, the more GAS takes over. So for me, it's just using what I have and not worrying about gear. But sometimes it's interesting to try some things
Yes! Same here!!

I got to the point where my GAS went from "oh, I want this cuz xyz" to "I actually need this cuz xyz", and now that I got the 2 lenses that fit my shooting style/needs (the Tamron 28-75mm for street & the Sigma 50mm macro for digitizing), and the money I got from selling off the gear I wasnt using/didnt need anymore I used to get small tidbits (cpl's, lens hoods, soft shutter release, some film to shoot) to finish rounding out what I have.
