A 15-300 zoom with the quality of my 16-85 and 55-300 PLM. Oh,the convenience of never having to change lenses!!

I think internally zooming lenses might still suck in some air through one or both of the ends? Can someone verify this?

Pentax DA Limited 70 f2.4. This lens is the last (for now) lens I feel I need to complete my kit!
I have one for sale in the classifieds. Your dream can become a reality!

I have several:
DFA*60-250 f/4
- always loved the DA* one but it needs updated AF motor and native FF capability

DFA*24-105 f/4
- the 28-105 is really good but 24mm and f/4 would make it a premium replacement

DFA*20-35 f/4
- 15-30 is very nice but too heavy for many landscape photographers. A * replacement for the old FA 20-35 would be a must buy for me

DFA*200mm macro f/4
- just because we all need something to wish for
Super cool to know.
which lens do you dream of having?

The lens of my dreams is the Pentax 11-18 mm f / 2.8 It is too wide angle i know hehehe and I like it a lot, nowdays I use the Pentax 16-50mm f / 2.8, are beautiful the images for photography and for videos are so incredible too, I can imagine with a more angular lens.

I could go and purchase all of this stuff but I should sell glass before buying more. Here's my list;

Pentax DA 70 Ltd SMC (for use on my recently acquired Super Program)

A good 24mm manual focus f2.8 k-mount lens, I don't really know what, maybe Cosina's from the late-80's. (also for use on the Super Program, to form the wide end of a three-lens kit with the DA 70 and my DA 40 XS)

A Pentax A-series 50mm f1.2. (so I can see in the dark)

Either a Samyang 135 f2 or Pentax M 120 f2.8, I'm not sure which, probably the Pentax. (for portraits mostly)

If you can go without the A setting, test the Tokina RMC II.
Or the Sigma Macro super wide, available in AF and MF, with A setting.

Unfortunately it never went into production.

Intrigued. What pancakey lens was or would that have been?

I already own a copy of the Tokina you mention. I don't find it especially sharp until f8. The Sigma seems better although build quality isn't so hot and I don't think the MF version is all that good. It got to be pretty decent by the Super Wide II AF version but out of focus rendering can be pretty crazy. I'm sort of searching for a needle in a hay stack with this one. The Miranda branded 24mm which I think Cosina produced seem good. There's others as well.

If I didn't care about size and weight I'd just go looking for a Sigma 24mm EX DG f1.8 but they're not small and that's the point of that kit.

I don't think that is the case, the internal volume is not changing. The elements moving internally displace air on one side and that air is moved to the other side, the construction must allow this or else it would be pulling a vacuum on one side.

When I have the 150-450 on my camera , in a quiet place , you can clearly hear air sucking or escaping from the body of the camera, same with my 16-50, with a zooms like my 50-135 or 70-200 I hear nothing, seems the air does just move internally when zooming of focusing. Others may have different experiences, but that is mine, also the fact that the barrels are not going in and out keep balance better, you can use the 150-450 on a gimbal, but it's balance point changes quite dramatically when zooming in or out, the beauty is, the 150-450 is very much a handheld lens for me, so not a huge downside, but, has been a weak point for those whose lenses have separated at that point, as well, due to the fact that the barrel is going from outside to inside the lens it is a point where it can draw in contaminants. If Pentax did make my dream lens, the DFA*200-400/f4 internal zoom would be most desirable , but they won't be making it, so it's just a dream.

My dream Pentax lens exists, but it's a bit expensive for my taste: the 43mm M-mount rangefinder lens.

I'd love a 14-28 f4, or 15-30 F4. I'd sell my 15-30 2.8 and the giant nisi s5 filters, get the f4 one with a screw in filters. I'd then pickup Rokinon 24 1.4 for astro work

Or a 50-135 f/2.8 PLM.

The 20-40 LTD would be super appealing to me if it weren’t for the size. It’s not a huge lens, but I too would rather carry a pancake prime.

I know there’s limits to what the engineers can pull off, but I agree that a 20mm prime that had some of the tech from the 20-40 would be sweet.

I would be happy if they upgrade FA / DA limited to weather sealed lenses. 21 limited is coming, hope they will continue in that direction.
