I have several:
DFA*60-250 f/4
- always loved the DA* one but it needs updated AF motor and native FF capability

DFA*24-105 f/4
- the 28-105 is really good but 24mm and f/4 would make it a premium replacement

DFA*20-35 f/4
- 15-30 is very nice but too heavy for many landscape photographers. A * replacement for the old FA 20-35 would be a must buy for me

DFA*200mm macro f/4
- just because we all need something to wish for

A DFA 135mm F2.5 Takumar Bayonet. Why? I started taking pictures with a 50mm and the 135mm. I would like to have that combo again. Maybe as an FF member of Plastic Fantastics? Sibling to the 35mm F2.4 and 50mm F1.8?

Pentax DA Limited 70 f2.4. This lens is the last (for now) lens I feel I need to complete my kit!

That sounds familiar.

Of course, after buying the 70 Limited, I already bought a couple more lenses...

To me I think it would be the FA 31 and 77 Limiteds... with HD coatings... which of course, I don't need at all, I have good lenses already in those ranges, including the SIgma 30 1.4 Art and the aforementioned DA 70 Limited...

I own my dream lens.
The SMC A* 400mm F/2.8 ED [IF].
Why?
That is easy, the lens is an astounding astro lens that gives great results wide open and is perfect on my K-3 and K-3ii when run at f/3.5. By perfect I mean no color fringing, no star bloat, no coma, no noticeable vignetting, nothing. For astro shooting auto focus is useless so the lack of it just means one less thing to worry about and its weight isn't an issue as I am always shooting off of a rock solid tripod. Add in the 1.4X-L and 2X-L converters and one can shoot most of the messier objects with reasonable framing with it

I should like a 12-24mm, but the 20-40 Limited (in black) would be a lovely bit of highly flare-resistant glass for a walkabout wonder.

I dream of it because it doesn't exist, but I'd love to see a DA 18 F/2.8 released because it would give me the (nearly) the same POV that I'm used to with a 28mm mounted to my film bodies.

That's not likely to happen, so I'm currently lusting after the DA21.

My dream lens from any brand would be a 400-600 F4 with built in 1.4tc.

The DFA 645 macro f2,8 90mm is well a dream lens, the one I would have is the 645 DA 25mm f4

At the moment I'm lusting for the DA*300/4. I'm only dreaming of owning it because it is not exactly cheap.

A lens that doesn't exist but in dreams? A cheap, lightweight 16-500/2.8?

I used to say I wanted a DFA*500mm F4 and FF 1.4 teleconverter. But, after using the DFA150-450 I have changed my mind.

My Dream lens would be a DFA*200-400/ F4 DC IF AW with all the same controls on the barrel as the 150-450 and with *internal zoom, so as there is no air being sucked in and out when zooming thus better WR, and balance stays the same when on a gimbal. with a matching DFA*1.4x TC, that would give a 280-560/f5.6.

Why, usability. I have been shooting longer lenses for quite a few years now, Sigma 300/2.8 , Pentax 300/2.8. Pentax 600/4 Sigma 500/4.5. and I love them, but.... the usability of a zoom in many situations is key. the DFA150-450 is very very good, but a 200-400/f4 would be better. IE-------DREAM LENS

The SMC Pentax A* 300mm f/2.8. Looks really cool, with a stellar reputation to match.

So I guess I'm unclear -- are you asking: (1) what is my dream Pentax lens that exists in reality and I want to buy or that I own, or (2) what lens would I love Ricoh/Pentax to make?

In either scenario, my answers are:
(1) DA* 55mm - own it and love it
(2) DA* 24mm f/2 -- an updated, modern version of FA* 24mm
and DA 10-24mm f/4 - update to DA 12-24mm with a little wider angle, plus a DC or PLM motor, and HD coatings

I've got both (and the HD-DA 15 Ltd). The 12-24 is a good lens, and there is often no substitute for its width, but I love the 15 + 20-40 combination as a compact, portable, WR, HD pair with that Limited magic.

I don't see that you can have just one dream lens unless you do just one kind of photography. The 15, 20-40, FA 77 and DFA 100 macro are all dream lenses for what they do.

For wildlife my dream lens doesn't exist in K-mount: a lens with more reach and better AF than the DA*300, and less weight and cost than the DFA 150-450, but with comparable IQ.
