The prism is a bit rounded so I think it is a Nikon F2.

It would be really close timing. The F2 was released in September 1971, the Bewitched episode in question aired Dec 8 1971. I don't know how far in advance those shows were filmed. Not long I expect.
If they phoned up Samy's Camera and asked for a prop, that very well might be what he'd send over.

I don't think so. I got my old "F" out of the drawer and compared several views from different angles and everything matches.

I personally can’t decide if it was the f or f2. The shot isn’t quite clear enough.

The 4x5 monorail in the "photo shoot" section is a Calumet - aka Kodak. That model of camera was also used by Ansel Adams on occasion.

I have my Dad's copy sitting in the closet.
Very intriguing!

Interesting indeed.

& for those that want a comparison of f vs. f2 - with typing on video saying it's the "f" not the "f1"

That's because the F1 was a Canon.

Where's the Hasselblad?

I guess McMann & Tate couldn't afford to hire a photographer using 6x6,
which then would have been standard for shooting models in the studio.

Photojournalists used 35mm, not studio photographers shooting magazine ads.

BTW that photographer's shirt is extremely groovy...

The biggest visual differences are the chrome on the buttons on the front (F) and the film reminder window on the back (F2). Also perhaps important, The F prism has a large engraved F on it, and doesn’t say Nikon on the prism. The F2 prism has no engraved “F2” and has a nameplate attached saying “Nikon”. I’d say that this seems to be an F2 based on the way the prism looks. However the details are fuzzy and it isn’t easy To be certain.

I was a huge Nikon fanboy as a young photographer. I owned the F2 (with the Ai analog needle meter dp-11) for quite a few years. My dads best friend was a Nikon rep and his favorite film camera was the Nikon F.

There's a stylized "F" near the peak of the pentaprism. The F2 DE-1 does not have this.

The Nikon F body does have "Nikon" on the top front, above the lens mount.
It appears they stuck something on the body to obscure the brand name.

Finally, this episode dates to 1971, before the F2 was widely available.
It's a Nikon F, not an F2. I have owned and used several of each.

Ok. I think you are right. But the motor drive in the last part of the scene looks wrong. The side profile shows it not flush with the body. Of course the actor is wearing several cameras and perhaps it’s a different one than the one identified. It doesn’t look like any of the F model motor drives I can find. I think that’s yet another camera not used in the actual shooting.

As far as the lens - any guesses?

Looking again I’m unclear. At 2:24 and a bit earlier it is more visible. Maybe I’m misunderstanding the profile of the f36?

---------- Post added 08-01-21 at 12:32 PM ----------

I’m thinking Nikon 50 f1.4 is the lens. But it’s really hard to tell.

I think I figured out the motor drive. Nikon uses a corded separate battery pack on the f36 originally and a couple of third parties (Powercon, Remopac) were available to free you from the cord. These stuck out like what I see in the video.

The cameras do seem to change from scene to scene.
The script supervisor must not have considered this a noticeable error in continuity.
A camera is a camera, right?
