Ni-Tec Inc camera lens

I recently purchased for dirt cheap a Ni-tec Inc 135mm f2.8 lens. Glass is clean and focus and aperture rings are smooth as butter. I am having a heck of a time finding any information about this lens online. It is a screw mount lens but it is not an M42 as it does not fit any of my m42 adapters. Does anyone have any information about this lens?

I think this is a lens for a night vision scope. Try searching Ni-Tec Inc night vision and you should get some hits.

I have seen the night vision setup from Ni-tec and thought the same thing. Just crazy that there is absolutely zero info or at least that I can find about this particular lens.

That looks similar to a T-mount. Is it the same diameter as the M42 but with tighter threading?

The lens design look similar to many other preset m42 lenses sold by many brands. Not sure who manufactured these lenses.

This Soligor looks the part. But the serial number would suggest Kino/Kiron but according to camerapedia Kiron didn't make a 135.

It looks like a T-mount - same diameter as M42 but different thread. If so, you need one of these:

I agree with Wasp - I have a number of preset MF lenses from that era and the ring on the rear end screams "T-mount" at me.

That mount ring looks weird though like it isn't part of the lens -- does it in fact already have a t-mount adapter or something or on it?

VonBaloney, The rear mount is an adapter. It un-screws leaving the screw mount accessible. As others have stated, it is almost the same thread size as a M42 but slighty tighter fit. I can only assume at this point that it is a T-mount. I will buy a Tmount-M42 adapter and see if that works!

GUB, That Soligor is identical to the Ni-Tec. I wonder of Soligor sold the lens to other companies to use and slap their own names on the lens?

Thank you all for your replies. Really helps!

Ok, so yeah, that's definitely a T-mount. But I guess the existing adapter is the wrong adapter?

No - other way round - Soligor put their brand on other manufactorer's lens. For instance researching the Soligor suggests your lens could be Sankor, Tokina or as I said Kino/Kiron.
