UK alternative to Analogue Wonderland

I ordered some very expired (2003) Fuji superia from Analogue wonderland. Expecting three rolls I was disappointed to find my £10 only got me one! (OUCH!) My mistake but the selling page is far from clear, so I emailed them, I was very polite! They couldn't be bothered to reply so I can't be bothered to deal with them again or recommend them to anyone else. So, does anyone know of a UK film supplier in the UK that has a nice collection?

I still can't get over £10 for a roll of 20year expired film! I could get it brand new from Park for £9.99. Analogue wonderland may have nice stock and make the right noises but they aren't the cheapest! Another reason to look elsewhere!

Maybe somewhere like Nik & Trick. Check this out

Yes, some people do use deceptive advertising and sometimes get away with it for a season. Thank you for ‘blowing the whistle’ on them.

Many years ago, the the US had a company which advertised “famous brand” film. “Famous Brand” was their name! It was lousy film, but I guess they sold a lot of it - one per customer.

Sorry to hear that. I've looked on Analogue Wonderland's website before, and frankly I didn't think their prices were anything to write home about.

Film prices seem to be increasing significantly across the board. Some folks believe there's a shortage, but I can't help thinking it's because I recently started getting into film photography

Anyway, I've recently bought from westendcameras on eBay. Their prices can be pretty good (though not on every brand, it must be said), especially considering the free postage. They discount well if you buy in multiples, too. I've only looked at their B&W stock, but they have colour too...

Colour Print & Slide Camera Films | Speed Graphic is another alternative but prices are now eye watering. Looks like our freezer stock could provide a second pension!

Yep, you were ripped off there. Some expired film still go for a lot of money because they're no longer made.

Film prices have gone up a lot in the last few years and most of the UK online retailers I had in my bookmark list are gone. Of those that remain, this one looks like it has the keenest prices:

35mm B&W Negative Film to Buy Online from UK Digital Cameras Experts

Beyond that, check

I used AG Photolab for developing and scanning, though not in the past couple of years - they were competent, but could be tardy at busier times.

Their supplies side is AG Photographic (Ag Photographic. The Specialists for all traditional photo products.), however it appears postage is extra and starts at just under a fiver.

ETA. @OP
I don't know how recently this happened to you, but my understanding of UK Distance Selling regulation is that you have 2 weeks to return the item and claim a refund, you don't even need a reason.

That is still the case but I would need to pay postage and I need some colour film for Monday night, so I have decided to take the hit on this one. I have used AG photographic, they do a great job for a decent price but I recently discovered that my local Max Speilman has a girl working the Lancaster shop who is a great developer and scanner. She is a photographer so knows what is important. £9 for processing and scanning and she turns it round the same day! Brilliant. Speilmans also do a couple of Ilford monos (xp2 & hp5) for a decent price. Useful to know for when the cupboard is bare.

It doesn't help to be angry. Not replying to emails is rather common these days. Due to information overload, there is a trend to not respond to emails and even phone calls, it's the new normal since there is no obligation to respond. As a matter of fact, the cognitive ability of the homo-sapiens didn't change with the arrival of smartphone technology and unbounded access to world wide internet, it's way more than even the brightest brains can cope with. In the age of information overload, the good old face to face meeting to more effective than ever before.

Exactly i 'm not angry, or, for that matter, surprised, just disappointed that they aren't who they perport to be, although that isn't uncommon. This kind of thing often leads you to someone far better I was never going to spend enough to keep them afloat single handedly .... Next ..... Hello nik & trick

I've been looking at a lot of their eBay listings... They stock a great range of darkroom chemicals, too. I'm quite interested in some of the BelliniFoto developers...

I keep looking at a Veho stand alone neg scanner. I need to be careful about how big an impact film has as my wife's patience has limits, so something small and cheap ticks a couple of boxes. Nik & trick have all the stuff for developing in limited space so that is on my wish list. Three months ago I swore I was never getting into film, then I restored and reskinned my Spotmatic SP (using that is soooooo satisfying). Did you say you have some Pentax film cameras? Have a look at the funky replacement leathers on Aki-Asahi. I would have done my S1a in yellow but it seems to have big issues also, using really old M42 lenses on a spotty is fabulous. I have a 1958 tessar that is just a dream!

Getting back to the subject, I just discovered another alternative
