I don't have an account over there anymore (deleted years ago), but for those of you who may and are interested in voting, I thought I'd pass this along here.

Thanks. I’m declining to vote as I have almost no experience with any of the candidate equipment. However I doubt most people who vote will do that. Lol.

I was thinking the same. And OMG they gone way over the top with then number products to vote on! I wonder which prime lens should i put on place 41? And which camera on place 18?

Once, a long time ago, DPR was THE site to go to for independent information, but unfortunately, that time is gone.

Most people don't use "integrity" and "the internet" in the same sentence. It's the new home of hustlers, con artists and thieves, taking over from circuses and world fairs.

The cut off / close date is 19DEC2021 , well too soon.
I can not comment on something what is not even available in Australia yet.
Although there are few Pentax products and also some other interesting ( from my point of view ) items.
For example:
Nikon Zfc

Nikon Z DX 18-140

Nikon Z FX 28 SE

Sony

α7 IV
Tamron 18-300 ( for Fuji X )

Fuji XF 27 R WR

So, despite not having used any of the lenses listed, I voted. Here's my rationale:

- I enjoy camera gear, and have read at least a little something about most of the lenses.

- I'm not especially biased regarding one brand or another - I have respect and appreciation for all brands, and would not hesitate to leave my primary brand (Pentax) if I really wanted something from a different system - which occasionally gets me in trouble here.

- I considered the lenses this way: if I had a camera that had a universal mount, which lens would I most likely buy?

And for me, the answer is...

Pentax D FA 21/2.4 Limited

What sets the 21/2.4 Ltd apart from other lenses with similar specifications is the close-focus capability and lovely bokeh. It seems a unique offering and is exactly what I would want in a FF wide angle prime, and would also be a treat on APS-C.

The other contender for my affection is the Canon 600/4, but no way in H E double-hockey-sticks would I ever consider shelling out that kind of cash for photo gear.

As an aside, this year Ricoh has released two pieces of gear that have captivated me: the 21/2.4 Ltd, and the GR IIIx. Well done, Ricoh.

That kind of contest is absurd in its very foundation. Who has tested all the lenses from all the manufacturers? Who even knows them all? It's just a popularity contest.
