Bokeh comparison.

Hello everyone, I have a comparison here between two lenses. I would like to know which photograph do you think has the better bokeh. I know it's subjective, but I'm curious to see how many of you like the same look.

A for me.
Good luck with your survey.

I don’t know how to do it, but you could have setup a “poll” thread that would compiles (and presents) the results.

Thanks for participating. I'm not sure how to do that either. I think I'd prefer to see comments though, and read why they prefer one over the other.

B for me. I like the rendering of the wood stakes (?) better, as well as the small plants on them. They seem more distinct.
As for bokeh, it seems to me that the background is a bit smoother and less "jittery" in B than A.

Do we learn the two lenses at the end of the poll?

B has better bokeh and much better focus.

B for Me . It is clearly a lens with "swirl" bokeh ability (perhaps a 58mm f2 helios?) whereas the other seems to collapse into busy little commas (arrows?) in the corners. My personal choice is a smoother but "flamboyant" bokeh.

Both are interesting. I think B. Was thinking Helios lens as well? If so I got one of these lenses this past year but other than some test photos I haven't used it much
Tons of potential!

1893 for me. The little balls of light present a point of interest for me. But it is subjective, for sure

The main focus in the first one is distracting enough for me that I prefer the second one, but looking specifically at the bokeh, the first one is also nice in that regard.

For this scene, I prefer B.
Strong donuts bokeh in A is a bit too distracting.

Me: B

Are you using some kind of filter when shoot A?
Looks like there is some kind of glow effect on A.
A might work for me if the main subject is larger like a person face? But for this scene, the main subject in the middle is small with a very similar color to its surrounding. I couldn't find it on the first look at A. It was disappeared into the background.

Is it really bokeh test or a depth of field test? To my (old) eyes in A only the centre foreground is in focus whereas in B most of the foreground is sharp. B is preferred but doesn't have what could be described as creamy bokeh.

I am wondering if he has reversed an element. I have a 44-4 set up with the front element reversed. A more aggressive but similar effect to "A"
