Pentax SLRs featured once again in a great documentary...

My wife and I just finished watching the documentary "Laurel Canyon" Two photographers are interviewed and their worked featured as part of the documentary. Both photographed and lived in Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles, California and are depicted using Pentax Spotmatics. Great documentary if you love any of the bands that blossomed, became famous, performed at the Troubadour, etc., including Buffalo Springfield, CSNY, Mamas and the Papas, Frank Zappa, Love, Hollies, Doors, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, and many more.

So many - almost too many- fines musicians living in one, amazing canyon and location. Only two episodes, but well worth the time...

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11017950/

Seen on the Peacock channel...

It's available to rent or buy on Prime Video in the UK. I may do so... Looks much better than most of the rubbish scheduled for TV broadcast over the Christmas period

Definitely. I was surprised how much me and my wife enjoyed this documentary.

Thanks for the tip, will add it to the list to watch (it's liker the only thing on the list. Just watched "Get Back" over the last week, it is excellent. A Pentax camera or two in it too, although Linda Eastman (not yet McCartney) was using a Nikon.

Nikon users and Pentax users can still be friends. A friend of mine was married to an Erinreich ( they used to import Nikon cameras into the US). He used to take his MX to take pictures at family activities.

It's available but you pay for yet another sub with something called DocPlay which costs $7.99 per month. Never heard of it before. I know this has nothing to do with photography but streaming means constant skimming by one provider or another. So I don't get to see Joni Mitchell and Neil Young and their Spotmatics.

Gee, I always figured Linda Eastman would use a Kodak.

Peacock-where I first encountered this rich documenatry- came as a free streaming service addition to my Xfinity/Comcast plan. Therefore, I would look at other services, maybe some for free, for this particular made-for-tv documentary.

I think years ago it was rumored that she was part of that family, but not at all.

Laurel Canyon is available on Amazon Prime Video for 1.49 per episode, or 3.49 for the season (of two episodes). So, buy all at once and pay more? Interesting concept.

Jeez.... even Prime Video is cheaper over there than here in the UK GBP £1.99 per episode here... £5.99 to buy the whole thing. Cheaper to rent, of course...

Thanks for the tip - got it!

Edit:....well it's there, but pay to view. Can't quite bring myself to do that as I'm tight. Caught the trailer though!
